From the moment I checked in, I was greeted by the friendly lady at reception. Room had everything I wanted, comfy bed, great sea view. Shower was perfect to use (not fiddly like you get at some hotels!). Not far from the pier, and about a ten minute walk from the train station. I was able to drop my bag off early before check-in, with no fuss, into a secure locked room. All staff from reception lady, to the girl who served my breakfast, the cleaner I came across, and the porter guy who let me in just after midnight, were all courteous and friendly. Would definitely visit again.

I love Eastbourne as have a lot of fond memories there. I love a seaside with has Victorian hotels facing the beach. Nice enough town centre with pubs and restaurants a plenty. Nice pier. A short walk from Beachy Head and Birling Gap, or you can take a bus up there if you don't fancy the climb. Spectacular views.

Plenty to do especially in the summer months.
Plenty to do especially in the summer months. Do have different shows on but reduced a bit in the winter months. Have seen some good shows such as Tony Christi and a very good Elvis impressionist at the open arena bandstand. Shopping area OK, bit dated but plenty there. Pubs good and always had lovely meals. Everyone is very friendly. Buses seem reliable too. They have a landtrain which helped us see a lot of Eastbourne coastline. £5 for an all day on and off system. Does close the end of September for the winter.

Eastbourne was a great base for us to explore the surrounding South Downs, Beachy Head, Cuckmere Haven, Alfriston, as well as Eastbourne itself with its long sea front. There were a lot of beautiful places to walk around, stunning scenery, and very welcoming people. We loved visiting Alfriston - plenty to fill a day there. Eating out at Sovereign Harbour nearby was also good.

General clean appearance and flat extensive promenade made walking a pleasure. Plenty of seating and well kept with litter obviously being cleared regularly. Range of shops very much like most other towns with all the usual brands but few independent shops in the main shopping area.
The pier was disappointing with nothing to attract us but gives good views along the coast.
Obviously a place much loved by the older generation but something for everyone here.

The weather was sunny, Eastbourne was lovely.
The weather was sunny, Eastbourne was lovely. I'd booked one night originally and then added another. The walks by the beach, and going part of the way up Beachy Head were the best bit. Have fish and chips in Harry Ramsdens, a whippy ice cream at the cafe by the wish tower. Also a cup of tea at the gardens higher up.
I usually go up Beachy Head on the tour bus, which is great fun, this time I did some walking on the hill. It's very peaceful and quiet if you want to get away from the crowds.
There's a good theatre and art gallery also.

It's a typical south coast Victorian beach resort, which is fine if that's what you want. The pier is quite spectacular and the Victorian Tea Room on the pier is good. We saw the Waverley paddle steamer depart from the pier.
The rail station is lovely.
The promenade stretches for miles and is part of the South Coast Path with Beachy Head at the westerly end.
We loved The Pilot Inn, at the Meads end of the town.
The town centre is a very good town centre with all the major stores - something of a rarity these days. And the Towner Art Gallery is excellent.
Excellent location both in relation to the seafront and the town centre. Good proximity to transport links if you don't have a car and want to travel further afield. The room was very comfortable and had everything needed for a self-catering stay if that's what you prefer. Nice, large, firm double bed and great natural light, overlooking a pleasant green space behind the hotel. We did manage to set the fire alarm off whilst toasting waffles (well, burning them, actually), so it was good to see everything worked!
The Alexandra Hotel is well located, an easy 15mins walk from the train station in Eastbourne. Its seafront location is stunning and right next to it there’s a charming street full of lovely cafes, shops and restaurants. The hotel itself is comfortable, the room we stayed was clean and lovely with sea views, nice bar and the staff is super nice. The breakfast was good. Overall, it was nice.
Lovely hotel, friendly staff, perfect location on the seafront with parking available. We had a room with a sea view overlooking the bandstand and pier which was amazing. The room was very clean and spacious. Breakfast was included with a good selection. The hotel had everything we needed, couldn’t fault it and will be booking again.
Clean well appointed apartment hotel with friendly helpful staff 5 minutes walk from the seafront in a quiet neighbourhood. Station and town centre is 10 minutes walk away and there are restaurants and cafes nearby. I enjoyed my stay here and would happily return. Recommended
Staff on reception really helpful, breakfast area staff were really kind with elderly guests, getting their breakfasts if they couldn't go up to get their own. location was great, on the seafront, and hotel car park available.
