Sea front area is attractive and there are plenty of things to do. There is a good selection of restaurants although sadly many are closing down. There are many shops but quite a lot of those are closing down. The rear of the town seems somewhat neglected. We went to the tennis at Devonshire park which is a very pleasant venue. We found the road system confusing and when out walking there was a lack of pedestrian crossings. For a town which attracts a lot of older people this is a serious omission.

Eastbourne as a town, fantastic.
Eastbourne as a town, fantastic. Alot of different choices of cuisine from different countries. Take the Dotto train and Explorer around the area. The smaller pubs have evening entertainment. The pier has entertainers too certain days. Many of the front sea view hotels are a bit ran down, so choose carefully.

Found a couple of eating places we really like.
Found a couple of eating places we really like. First visit to Jojo's tea room - we will call again.
Excellent circular hop on/off bus tour - great views and a good way to see the surrounding countryside.
Town centre still looking a bit down at heel. Some of the road layouts/crossings are confusing. Nearly got run over twice outside the train station because I was looking the wrong way.
Seemed to be a lot of noisy motor bikes speeding around.

Very clean with good facilities.
Very clean with good facilities. Pier looking very tired with quite a few of the small shops closed which is a shame as definitely one of the main features of the town. Lots to do round town and along the coast. A visit to Harry Ramsdens for fish and chips a must

The bus service was amazing.
The bus service was amazing. As pensioners we were able to use our bus passes to visit Pevensey Castle and Hastings.
We also went on the open-top tourist bus, which took us on a circular trip to Beachy Head - unfortunately it was very misty that day, so couldn't enjoy the spectacular views.
We ate out on three occasions and can recommend Shimla Indian restaurant, Little Elephant Thai restaurant and Gr/eat Greek Restaurant.
We were hoping to get information about buses at the Tourist Information office (which was located on our little map in the centre of town). However, we were told it had been moved ten minutes out of the centre, which we felt was a very poor decision, since the original was near the train station and right where people would need it in the centre of town.
Beautiful old Victorian building, grand entrance hall and restaurant area. Once upon a time this would have been a gorgeous hotel.
One of the staff members was lovely when we requested a room change, no hassle. The final room we were placed in was much better. Spacious and nice views of the seafront.
Lovely Christmas decorations in public areas.
The location is in the lovely ‘meads’ area of Eastbourne, near the downs on the western side of town. Very close to the seafront and also close to shops and cafes. Lovely homely feel. All mod cons. Hidden away, so very secluded. Feels like a “secret hideaway” for couples.
Breakfast was good with lots of choice and quality food, staff throughout the hotel really friendly, comfy bed, bathroom looked like it had recently been renovated, great location for town centre and seafront. Entertainment in the evenings good. Parking convenient
Excellent stay, highly recommend. Exceeded expectations. Great location near seafront, town centre & a great selection of restaurants /spotless and modern hotel/great breakfast/ outdoor seating area, very friendly and hospitable hosts, we will be returning.
Excellent hotel on Eastbourne seafront marvellous views and central location, car parking permit was a real bonus £ 2 for a 24 hr stay, had a large town facing room with great aircon, another plus is the excellent breakfast.
