Grindelwald is an ideal location for exploring the Jungfrau area, including Mannlichen, Wengen, Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald First. The scenery is stunning and there are many walking tracks. We stayed at the Terminal area close to the Eiger Express and Mannlichen gondolas and train station, a little outside the town and very quick to access these routes. Our favourite place to visit was Grindelwald First with so many activities, although it was disappointing that some sell out very quickly, even if you have booked. Lauterbrunnen is best viewed from above. The trip to the town was disappointingly touristy and crowded.

This was the perfect way to see this area.
This was the perfect way to see this area. This hotel was amazing and walking distance to the bus station that then took us to the gondolas and trains which then took us to hikes and over the mountain into the Lauterbrunnen Valley and beyond. What a beautiful part of the world! I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Great transport to get you around different activities and no hard walking if you take the gondola or train. The Canyon walk is worth a visit and getting a gondola up to Grindlewald First to walk up to the lake is a must - using a Trotti bike to come back down the mountain is so much fun!
Going up the Jungfrau is an experience not to missed when you've travelled all that way but it is quite expensive and is busy and quite commercialised.
A beautiful place, well worth a visit.

Despite the beautiful surroundings and convenient location to visit a few of the greatest and most beautiful tourist destinations in Switzerland, Grindelwald has become a tourist trap! I was really disappointed and won't be coming back. For those who prefer a more authentic experience, I do not recommend you stay in Grindelwald. It's best to choose some of the less touristic towns nearby.

The worst of Grindelwald is that the locals hate the tourists and are very unfriendly. In the cable car the workers push people and are very un respectful with the customers, sometimes pushing customers violently.
This hotel is perfectly located for quick visits to Grindelwald, as it is literally opposite the train platforms that take you in from Interlaken (and that get you to the top of the mountains, too). The location is stunning, and you are 5 minutes away from shops and coop supermarkets to buy food and/or clothing.
Staff was attentive, room was ample and spotless, even with a cute balcony that had amazing views. Temperature ran a bit too hot but not a problem, you can open the window yourself to regulate if need be.
Great central location, close to train station and restaurants and shops. The hotel is next to the sports center in Grindelwald with pool and sauna (where you get discounted tickets with the guest card from the hotel).
