Balibo Fort Hotel is a truly unique travel experience, the quality of stay was like nothing else we experienced in Timor Leste. The rooms themselves are modern, very clean and wonderfully decorated, whilst being surrounded by elements of the fort. The pool was an absolute highlight, with wonderful views of the local mountain ranges. The food was excellent, and there is a huge breakfast. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, it was so lovely to see so many young people getting experience in hospitality. The hotel is in very close proximity to the Australian Flag House/Museum, and there is a wonderfully kept museum onsite at the entrance gateway, with a broader focus on Timor Leste's history.

There were lots of young people learning the hospitality trade which is a fantastic initiative for Timor. The breakfast was great. The room was clean, cool and comfortable

It’s only 50 meters from the beach and the view is very nice. The staff are nice and here to help. We get a free shipping from the airport which is great. The manager is very nice and drive us around Dili.

The staff were absolutely amazing and could not do enough to make my stay supreme! The front desk staff were a highlight! The location is great, close to the ferry terminal and Tai’s market and also on several microlet routes! There is an old world feel about the place with beautiful rooms and shared spaces and a lobby where you can watch the world go by The breakfast was a great mix of western and Asian and there was plenty to fill you up for the day!! 5 stars!

In middle of largest shopping center in country, with groceries, restaurants, a cinema, and even a medical clinic. Buffet breakfast every morning, lunch and dinner at rooftop fine-dining restaurant. Staff all speak English and are exceptionally warm and helpful. Free shuttle bus to and from airport. Taxis and mikrolets stop right in front of the hotel. I plan on staying here on my next trip to Dili. Only other competing hotel is the Hilton when it opens, but that surrounding neighborhood is not wonderful and has few if any restaurants or shops.
