The front desk staff were a highlight! The location is great, close to the ferry terminal and Tai’s market and also on several microlet routes! There is an old world feel about the place with beautiful rooms and shared spaces and a lobby where you can watch the world go by The breakfast was a great mix of western and Asian and there was plenty to fill you up for the day!! 5 stars!

Balibo Fort Hotel is a truly unique travel experience, the quality of stay was like nothing else we experienced in Timor Leste. The rooms themselves are modern, very clean and wonderfully decorated, whilst being surrounded by elements of the fort. The pool was an absolute highlight, with wonderful views of the local mountain ranges. The food was excellent, and there is a huge breakfast. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, it was so lovely to see so many young people getting experience in hospitality. The hotel is in very close proximity to the Australian Flag House/Museum, and there is a wonderfully kept museum onsite at the entrance gateway, with a broader focus on Timor Leste's history.

Management and staff were always eager to help with any requests and the service we received was exceptional, always happy and took the time to say hello.

I didn’t realize when I booked that the airport transfers are FREE! the laundry is FREE! what a bonus! The breakfast omelette were very nice too! the bed was comfortable for a good nights sleep. I believe if your dollars can go to good causes which make a difference to the country you visit it’s an added bonus this hotel is one such place. also take time to explore Timor Leste it is a wonderful big hearted country with many places to see.
