Breakfast (optional) was excellent and very Japanese: pleasant presetation, varied food with protein from fish, egg and tofu, vitamins from salad, served with rice and miso soup - I didn't feel hungry before late afternoon.

A wonderful upscale and classic ryokan experience up in the mountains. The Staff were amazing and gracious. The food was over the top too. This was a wonderful break from the classic western hotel experience. Bucket List!

We stayed here our first night in Japan and the host spoke perfect english and was super kind and helpfull. Gave us a lot of great recommendations and explained everything really well. The next morning we got to our car and had a flat tire - it was a sunday and we were pretty isolated and the host pretty much spent all day helping us getting a towtruck and a new tire. Hospitality like I’ve never seen before. Thank you again so so much! Hope to be back one day.

Natural Farm City Noen Hotel ligger i Chichibu, 45 km från Kumagaya rugbystadion, och erbjuder utsikt över staden. First of all, the room itself is way larger than you would normally expect in Japan, so plenty of space if you have extra luggage. Plus plenty of amenities, free parking, and helpful (as well as English speaking) staff. The hotel is also located on a large hill overlooking Chichibu, and the view from the room (especially if you can get one on the upper floors) is simply amazing! Better still, you get a very nice traditional Japanese bathroom, that borders on a private onsen, with a large window right next to the bath. I have no complaints about the communal onsen, but if you want a proper onsen experience, there are better places to stay. HOWEVER, wait until nightfall, and prepare a bath in your own room, and then you can relax in the hot water whilst watching all the lights of pretty much the entirety of Chichibu - a view I daresay very few proper onsen hotels can offer, and which is truly spectacular!
