During our 16-day holiday in Japan, my husband & I, together with another couple, stayed in 7 ryokans/hotels & Iseya is the BEST! The hotel is new & clean & the facilities are so good! We opted for dinner & breakfast in the hotel & we were so happy & satisfied with the quality & freshness of the food & service level of the attending staff who went beyond their call of duty to make us comfortable! Special mention goes to a male service staff (I think he is the supervisor; forgot his name but was Mayama or something) who served us dinner on 15 Nov. We wanted to order a bottle of red wine & sake to go with our dinner & asked for his recommendation. The sake he recommended was so good, we decided to buy 2 extra bottles to bring home! When this same male service staff heard from us that we had to rush off to catch the ferry to Kumamoto the next morning & breakfast only starts at 7.30am, he left word for our breakfast to be ready earlier. We were pleasantly surprised & so grateful that a new batch of service staff were waiting for us at the dining room when we went down to checkout at 7.20am on 16 Nov. Really fantastic service! Nisshokan Bettei Koyotei ligt in de regio Nagasaki, op 10 minuten rijden van het park van de vrede. Het biedt uitzicht op het prachtige Nagasaki, een openbaar bad en gratis parkeergelegenheid. De vriendelijkheid van het personeel. Het uitzicht op de stad en de ontzettend grote en mooie kamer. Eten was fantastisch. Gratis shuttle service naar het station was fijn (en noodzakelijk).

UNZEN HANZUIRYO by Onko Chishin is gelegen in Unzen, op 48 km van Geschiedenismuseum van Nagasaki, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren en een gedeelde lounge. This hotel has just 14 massive and expansive rooms - frankly more like an apartment on two levels. The setting is peaceful and the staff just ever presently helpful without being intrusive. The Assistant General Manager, Amila, helped enormously with advice and translation as most of the staff speak only Japanese. The public spa was in fact restricted to hotel guests so not really very public. Exceptionally well set up. Dinner in room was great and the Japanese breakfast was super comprehensive - served in my downstairs dining area by my room attendant.

Unzen Miyazaki Ryokan features a 1,650-square-meter Japanese garden, natural hot spring baths, free Wi-Fi, an on-site bar, cafe, souvenir shop and an exclusive lounge for... Spacious table-seating in the dining room, all tables having a view of the garden (really a park-like setting) and a menu that deserves an international rating at the highest levels, and that applies to both dinner (the landscape outside the glass wall is softly illuminated) and breakfast that offers Western coffee selections and the best of Japanese tea. We booked two nights and we were delightfully surprised to find that both the dinner and breakfast menus were varied. The wait staff and chefs paced the meal to our habits, and as English-speaking guests we never were challenged in communications.

和みの宿 おりがみ bevindt zich in Nagasaki, op 8 minuten lopen van station Nagasaki, en heeft accommodatie met airconditioning en een bar. Traditional washi tatami mat. Room was big. "Shared" bathroom but you can lock so pretty much personal. The share bath is only shared by another room so shouldn't be occupied that often.

Saikaibashi Corazon Hotel in Sasebo has a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and a garden. Boasting free shuttle service, this property also provides guests with a restaurant. Spectaculaire ligging, fantastische (deels open lucht) onsen met sauna. Zeer ruime kamer, grootste ooit in Japan gehad! All inclusive met geweldige Japanse keuken en mooi restaurant met spectaculair uitzicht en live muziek door violiste. Zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Mooie grote tuin.

Het Inasayama Kanko Hotel ligt op 10 minuten rijden van het treinstation JR Nagasaki en biedt openbare baden en een sky lounge met een prachtig uitzicht over Nagasaki. Awesome service and attention from staff. Full amenities provided with comfortable room. Close proximity to most locations. Great view of Nagasaki night view from comfort and convenience from hotel rooftop.

Nisshokan Shinkan Baishokaku is gelegen in Nagasaki, op 13 minuten lopen van Geschiedenismuseum van Nagasaki, en biedt accommodatie met een gedeelde lounge, gratis privéparkeren en een restaurant. The location and view was great.

鶴屋旅館 is gelegen in Matsuura, op 41 km van Huis Ten Bosch, en biedt accommodatie met gratis WiFi en gratis privéparkeren. Comfortable beds. Private onsen was great. The operators/hosts were very friendly and helpful. This is a ryokan that has been updated to include beds.

Banshoukaku bevindt zich in Tsushima, op 7 minuten lopen van Kaneishi Castle Ruins en 800 meter van Kyu Kaneishi Castle Garden. The location was perfect with many shops in walking distance. The proprietor was very kind. The 3 breakfasts we got were different each day, authentic, and delicious. Room was cleaned everyday while we were out.
