内子の宿 こころ situa-se em Uchiko, a alguns passos de Uchiko Town Museum e a 3 minutos a pé de Machiya Resource Center. It was like staying in a film set but all authentic. The residence was built in a traditional way and well maintained. Very helpful staff and appreciated the pick up service from the station. Very attractive small provincial town with good selection of restaurants all within easy walking distance.

The host and staff are so friendly and made us feel very welcome. The house itself is lovely, an old renovated farm house, with plenty of space and a stunning view of the surrounding mountains. There is a small independent cafe attached which is not to be missed - amazing coffee and, again, the owner is just lovely. I would recommend traveling by car but the roads are easy to navigate, there is good parking and so much to do in the area (from hiking to canyoning and kayaking; and larger cities such as Matsuyama, and slightly further, Kochi, are not too far away - we even went into town by car one evening for the famous Dogo Onsen). All in all, not to be missed!

We loved our four day stay in Yamatoya Besso. The onsen was fabulous. We had it to ourselves. The staff was super attentive especially Midori who speaks excellent English but everyone was wonderful. Breakfast was amazing. The location was superb, close to Matsuyama Castle, shopping, cafes, restaurants, and a short train ride to all the local sites. We look forward to returning to Yamatoya Besso.

Situado em Matsuyama, a 500 metros do Templo Joshin-ji, o Kowakuen Haruka oferece acomodações com banheira ao ar livre, estacionamento privativo e jardim. The hotel is modern but we were able to stay in the traditional Japanese style room - everything about the room was thoughtfully prepared (tea, drip coffee, robes and slippers for use when going to onsen, ice machine and small souvenir shop), clean and beds were comfortable. The location was very good, nice buffet dinner, live music performance at night and very kind staff. The rooftop onsen was excellent - it had a beautiful view of Matsuyama city, different soaking areas (outdoor and indoor with spa bubbles) and felt pretty private.

I loved our stay here!! The highlight of our Japan trip. The staff were all really friendly especially Taguchi san and the food was amazing! We were served a different menu for our second night, too. The private onsen bath overlooking dogo onsen was lovely. And the yukatas were cute!
