Location was great and they had all the facilities you’d need, including onsite ski rental. The breakfast was wonderful everyday and having the option of the public onsen or booking in a private onsen was a real bonus. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

Historic ryokan with wonderful display of Yasunari Kawabata’s room and other memorabilia. Staff were wonderful and drove us into Yuzawa for dinner and picked us up afterwards.

When you arrive the Ryokan is dedicated to getting you on the slopes as fast as possible. Have arrangement that they call a minibus which takes you to the ski hire rental and then another minibus will take you on to one of the two ski start points

its was a Japanese style accommodation tatami room. Big room and equipped with futon and comfy comforters. As it was winter the room was equipped with heaters that warm up the room nicely. My 2 children aged 14 and 11 love the room. There is no meal provided but you can op for meals such as breakfast and dinner at a fee. We opted for dinner and it was bento set. Lovely. We enjoyed it alot.
There was an onsite onsen with indoor and outdoor. It was lovely as it was cold so nice warm onsen was awesome for all of us.
You can rent ski gears onsite and it was cheaper too. The ryokan employees were helpful and nice. So if you are going for ski, the nearest ski is Iwaparra. Gala yuzawa is further so we opted to Iwaparra. Kids love it.
There was shuttle bus by accomodation to pick us up from the train station when we arrived. So just hear to the east exit and wait there. And addition to that, the ryokan also provide shuttle to the ski area. Do check the schedule at the reception. It was a plus point for us that they provide shuttle from and to ichigo Yuzawa train station.

Exceeded expectations. Carpark, staff, in room dining, breakfast pre and after ski breakfast, dining made the whole ski experience and comfort in Yuzawa. I will be back in this hotel for the next ski trip!

The manager was helpful.
He helped me book the luggage courier and showed me how to use the washing machine with a built in dryer.
The location was away from eating and easy transport connections so I spent extra money on Taxis.
Walking into town with ski gear in a snow storm is not ideal .

Yuzawa Denkiya is beautiful traditional Japanese style hotel. Our family loved sleeping on tatami and enjoyed the little extras like the tea and Japanese biscuits provided. We also loved the indoor and outdoor Onsen. The staff were very kind and we were given fresh towels and wash cloths daily. What a treat. There is a convenience store a couple of hundred metres down the road and vending machines everywhere of course. Love this place and look forward to coming back.
Yukinohana is a really nice Ryokan. It has some yukata that you can wear around the hotel, and also has 3 nice private onsen that you don't need to pay extra for or book in advance, so if you have tattoos, you can still bathe! It also has really clean, comfy rooms, and some free ice cream in the afternoons, plus free half-sized ramen in the evenings! It also has a delicious traditional Japanese breakfast. My friend and I spent our entire stay in the hotel, other than briefly going out for dinner.

We get the full experience of a traditional tatami room with Futons for beds. The room was cozy, place was clean and the internet was fantastically fast and reliable. Air conditioning and electric heater was provided as it can get very cold.

Location: it was across from Echigo-Yuzawa station and it was easy to get to the hotel.
Rooms: they were spacious and the futons got made every day.
Onsen: fantastic onsen facilities that made our stay more pleasant.
Breakfast: good variety of Western and Japanese food. The restaurant was big and accommodated everyone.
Coffee and amazake were provided free of charge which was a lovely gesture.
The view is so beautiful, we can enjoy it whole day from balcony of our room. This ryokan with a rich history. There are cozy common living room with piano and museum. The onsen is good. There shuttle bus from ryokan so we can easily go to station. Last but not least, Staff are very friendly & helpful
First of all the staff is very friendly. It’s a nice new hotel, well decorated, with tatami mats around the property. So you can just wear socks (even provided).
The onsen facilities are very nice. Which for us the main reason to visit the hotel.
It’s nice that at certain time of day they provide free snacks or even ramen in the evening.
Onsen bath, a vast japanese style room with tatami matt and futon, and nice breakfast. The onsen bath opens from 14:00 to 9:30 the next day. Basically the whole night.
