Kounso, hotel in Yamanakako

Located just a few minutes' walk from Lake Yamanaka, Kounso offers cosy accommodation.

The room was very comfortable and also very clean. I appreciated that there was some little booklet with recommendations about where to get a nice view of Mt. Fuji, restaurants, etc. I also checked out one of the both spots and got a very nice view. Bicycles are also provided, which are very convenient to get around here. I usually don't ride bicycles, but I loved doing it here in this area. Being able to book the onsen for yourself, so you get about 1 hour to relax is also a very nice experience.

The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The warmth and hospitality provided a wonderful start to our stay. The facilities, although a bit old, were maintained and clean. Shikitei, hotel in Yamanakako

Located at the foot of Mount Fuji and surrounded by trees, Shikitei offers cottages with traditional architecture and a Japanese Irori hearth.

After the initial hiccup with the booking, the overall stay at this place was one of the memorable moments of our Japan trip. The house we stayed in was nestled in the forest, surrounded by trees all around. It is far away from the town yet close enough for a quick dash if you need something. The house itself was self sufficient with all the modern amenities. Absolutely loved our stay there, it is highly recommend. We’ll certainly like to go there again.

Fuji Onsenji Yumedono, hotel in Yamanakako

Luxurious ryokan Fuji Onsenji Yumedono is located just 500 metres from Lake Kawaguchiko.

Lovely rooms, private onsen baths, natural onsen water. Liked the small private dining spaces for meals too. Fabulous food, really special and making the most of Yamanashi local produce and meat. Chef Sakata is amazing. Really liked the salmon/trout from Lake Kawaguchiko. Very friendly and helpful staff, especially Takano-san. Lots of things to do in the neighbourhood.

Featuring great views of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi, Konanso boasts natural hot spring baths and large Japanese-style rooms with traditional tatami (woven-straw) flooring.

It was the perfect location, unfortunately the weather didn’t allow us to see Mt Fuji, but if we could’ve it would’ve been an insanely beautiful view.

Really nice place where I would love to go back in spring or autumn as it's really relaxing with an amazing garden. Looks very suitable for a calm and quiet stay for a family with kids. The private onsen was great 👍 The bed was one of the most comfy we had in japan

One of the prettiness hotel we stayed in during our 1 week trip. Very spacious and cozy room, with both modern bed and futon. The place is well taken care of with a huge movie room and lots of other facilities - table tennis, playroom, garden. The onsen and Bath room was not huge, but definitely enough for the whole family, and u will hv it to ur own once u book it. Breakfast was nice. And they brew good coffee in their cafe as well.

It is a very special place located near Lake Yamanakako with excellent views of Mt Fuji. The rooms are traditional ryokan with tatami mats and you have your own amenities to make tea or heat up something in the microwave. You are also about a 10 min walk from bus station and downtown - which has excellent places to eat and drink. Also the onsen was great and in the lounge area you could build a fire!

The room we stayed in was big & clean, with clean sheets on good futons. Especially like the fresh tatami mats that covered the flooring. It has all the essentials like heater, dehumidifier, air con, electric kettle, cups & fridge. The water pressure of the shower was good, too. On location - great views of Mount Fuji just outside the lodging!

Beautifully presented room with tatami and such a warm and cosy futon. The guest house is ideally located on the prettiest side of Lake Yamanaka, and I could see Mount Fuji out of my window. In the early morning it was reflected in the lake as the mist rose off the water, and the view was magical. Staying here was a special experience.

Amazing place to stay if you want to have a bit of traditional Ryokan feeling. The room was great, very clean and quite big for Japanese standards. The private Onsen were also a great experience and a must when in Japan. With great weather you will be able to wake up with the view on Mount Fuji. It is also very easy to reach Kawaguchiko by bus for any day activity you might wish for.

Clean and comfortable room with a view of Mt Fuji, the tatami was very relaxing. The owner of the ryokan was friendly and generous. She gave us a warm greeting and detailed travel advice. We were able to book the bathroom for private use which was wonderful too.
