Wakayama Kada Onsen Kada Kaigetsu (ex. Azumaya Seaside Hotel), hotel in Wakayama

Boasting indoor and open-air hot spring baths, Azumaya Seaside Hotel offers free pick-up shuttles from Kada Train Station, a 5-minute drive away. Free Wi-Fi is available at the lobby.

The ocean view from the room and the hot spring bath was wonderful. I appreciated the little details that made the overall experience nicer, like the driver of the shuttle taking the 10 minute scenic route along the coast instead of straight through town to the hotel. It was fun to choose from the variety of colorful yukata(robes) available for women and children that can be worn after bathing. (Sorry men, there’s only one standard pattern for you.) The nearby beach was also beautiful, although empty because swimming season had ended.

Fudoguchikan, hotel in Wakayama

At Fudoguchikan, guests can bathe in the open air, in a public hot-spring bath that features mountain and river views.

All the staff were incredibly kind, and since the place wasn’t too crowded, it was perfect for enjoying the onsen at a relaxed pace. Being close to the airport also saved us travel time, allowing us to make the most of our trip. The kaiseki dinner was beautifully plated and full of care, with both the presentation and flavors being exceptional. This was my first trip with my mom, and we had such a wonderful time together. I would love to visit again in the future with my dad, mom, sibling’s family, and my husband.

Onsen was a lovely facility. Complementary yakult in the morning, ice blocks in the afternoon and ramen at nIght (didn't try because it was from 9.30pm only - very late). Enjoyed the massage chairs too. Free washing machines. Loved the facilities and room - very dark curtains. Pity about the beds.

Hosts are super nice and provided me with Infos for my sightseeing plans. They also helped me, when my luggage arrived a day later, so I could already be out and explore! The room is spacious, has everything you need and is clean. The futon was very comfortable. The hostel is conveniently located, a very good onsen is just around the corner. Would definitely recommend.
