To escape the pace of Tokyo arriving at the Futagojimsou hotel for the weekend in late September.
There were only a few people on Friday it seems that Saturday night is the time local Japanese escape the city for the tranquility of the ocean.
The hotel itself is from times gone by, yet clean and clean comfortable. The room views were spectacular, the waves lapping the shore at night was serene, the staff incredibly patient and polite. The dinner incredible best value, varied and delicious.
Across the road the Bandoko Garden, a retreat for the afternoon was restful. Followed by the outdoor Onsen, facing the ocean.
I can highly recommend a visit.
Offering an open-air bath and river view, Aridagawa Onsen Hotel Sunshine is located in Arida, 7.6 km from Yuasa Toy Museum and 7.6 km from Jinburo Museum.

Comfortable, clean, friendly, very little English spoken but online translation sorted out the needful. Very friendly staff and a good breakfast. Not far from a railway station.
The very best thing was the included voucher for a very good onsen with four pools and two saunas. Lovely.
At Fudoguchikan, guests can bathe in the open air, in a public hot-spring bath that boasts mountain and river views. Tranquil Japanese-style rooms offer river views, some from a private open-air bath....

The atmosphere (next to a river in the mountains) is fantastic. We stayed in a room with a private outdoor bath that overlooks the river in absolute privacy. The onsen water quality is very good. The room was large (16 tatami) and the futons very comfortable. The area is very quiet - only the whisper of the aircon and the pump of the outdoor bath could be heard at night. Women get to pick yukatas upon check-in to suit their style and size. We paid for half-board, which included a very sumptuous kaiseki meal in a private tatami room. The food was absolutely exceptional, and included drinks such as high-end sake. Breakfast -- traditional Japanese -- was also very delicious. The hotel provided a shuttle service from and to Hineno station, making the travel experience very easy.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at this traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Amazing location right at the sea, traditional rooms with a traditional bed made on the floor, wonderful onsen, hotwater bath. The breakfast and dinner super good
Onsen was a lovely facility. Complementary yakult in the morning, ice blocks in the afternoon and ramen at nIght (didn't try because it was from 9.30pm only - very late). Enjoyed the massage chairs too. Free washing machines. Loved the facilities and room - very dark curtains. Pity about the beds.
Hosts are super nice and provided me with Infos for my sightseeing plans. They also helped me, when my luggage arrived a day later, so I could already be out and explore!
The room is spacious, has everything you need and is clean. The futon was very comfortable. The hostel is conveniently located, a very good onsen is just around the corner. Would definitely recommend.
