The baths are outstanding. The temperature is perfect. The outside baths are great. Amazing location and experience. There is a good range of baths. The nightly jazz concert is fantastic. The quality of the performances is very high. The best in Japan come to perform. The food is great. The buffet has an amazing selection. One of the staff members, Izumi, helped us find a clinic in Tokyo we could visit to see a doctor, and we appreciate her assistance.

One of the best places we’ve stayed in Japan! The staff were absolutely lovely. 10/10. Facilities were excellent. Cute communal games room, plus private onsen so my partner and I could take a bath together. And a few extra nice touches like a SNES set up in our room so we could play games, and free coffee vouchers for a nearby cafe!

Ryokan Warabino is on an idyllic Japanese valley, overlooking Nagano city. A bit far from everywhere, you definitely need a car to get there! Place is super clean, and rooms are so so nice, comfortable individual mattresses on a tatami floor.
Three different onsens to choose from, two of them are outdoors, so relaxing, and you can have them booked privately, never had a problem to get to use them all.
On top of that food....oh my...please add it to your booking because you will try to get what traditional japanese food is, so delicious. Dinner was abundant, with 9 courses, make sure your belly is empty before going! Breakfast was as well super traditional, with plenty of different small dishes to try.
Staff was all the time smiling, and super accommodating.
I would come back thousand times if I could! Thank you so much Ryokan Warabino for such an amazing experience!

This ryokan exceeded all our expectations. Located in the heart of Kusatsu Onsen, it provided easy access to the town centre and bus station. The staff were exceptional, very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The hotel itself was spotless, and our room was spacious, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed.
We really enjoyed their breakfast. We stayed there 2 nights and it was different both mornings.
A special highlight was being able to enjoy the onsen without any issues despite having tattoos that I can't cover.

Lovely Ryokan on the fringe of Kusatsu Onsen. Nice quite location but has a 7/11 across the road and a couple of eateries nearby. In house onsen is a great addition, and the Japanese breakfast was filling and delicious.
Hanaingen is an adult only accommodation situated in Kusatsu, just a 2-minute walk from Yubatake, or the hot water field in Kusatsu Onsen.

Location, comfort, and service were all excellent. The Ryokan was equipped with very good facilities. Private onsens were available as well, although you need to take turns to use one of the 4 shower rooms.
Fujiiso offers accommodation in the Yamada Onsen Area in Takayama Village of Kamitakai District in Nagano Prefecture. There is a shared lounge and gift shop at the property.

Beautiful location, care taken to ensure the privacy and comfort of guests, delicious and creative menu, relaxing and therapeutic onsen, natural scenery from every window, really nice staff. Unexpected experiences in the vicinity, including a big waterfall that you can walk behind, a colourful nature trail close to Fujiiso, the lovely town of Obuse.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at this traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Of course the Onsen (Natural hot spring baths) were wonderful.
The restaurant is also very good and the buffet style allowed us to try many different dishes.
The sulphur onsen. The place is high up in the mountains and is very relaxing and chill. The outdoor bath located a little way away from the main building provides a nice view and a nice hot soak. The buffet style meals are tasty and there are a wide variety to choose from.
