The meals are the best of our whole trip in Japan. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is nested by the creek yet right across the street from the bus stop. The location is perfect. The host gave us a ride to the nearby public Onsen and gave us a tour to the Tenkawa Daibenziten-Sha Shrine, where the Emperor of the Southern Court had lived around 700 years ago. We took a less than two-hour scenic hike to the Dorogawa Onsen village, and 25 minutes bus back. Loved their private bath which includes both indoor and outdoor tubs all to yourself but needs to book with the host.

The location was picturesque and overall incredibly pleasant to look around at. The property itself is very well maintained, truly delivers the classic ryokan experience, onsen are amazing and very enjoyable, the staff was wonderful and incredibly helpful.
The food was something else - both the kaiseki dinner and the breakfast were delicious, filling and a great pleasure to partake in.
Overall, would highly recommend, I had a blast staying at Kadojin.

Truly an experience I’ll never forget. The Monks are all so kind and welcoming. There ceremonies, the food, the history and culture. You feel part of the family and that feeling will stay forever. The entire experience from train to cable rail car, is all part of an experience that is priceless. Nearby sites and the town itself on Mt. Koya are unbelievable.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at these traditional Japanese-style accommodations. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath, plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
We had an amazing stay! The staff was very welcoming, the meals were fantastic, and the room and overall comfort were just perfect. The location is stunning, and we loved the onsen. An unforgettable and beautiful part of our trip!
Everything!! From the traditional ryoukan to the grand meal to Dorogawa where this ryokan is located❤️
Everything about it was exceptional, even the staff were really friendly. Would definitely visit again for a longer stay next time.
Everything

The room with outside bathub was really stuning
The area was Nice, slow Life japan. With an amazing smell of Cedar wood.

!!
Dorogawa is a great place to visit. I thought the ryokan was lovely and onsen baths relaxing. The staff were all nice and helpful. Breakfast was also enjoyable with a filling Japanese style breakfast.
The camp was in a beautiful location next to a tranquil running river. The upstairs tatami futon sleeping was a big hit with the kids and the fully equipped kitchen made cooking easy. The heating worked well for the colder nights.
Our hosts were extremely hospitable. Upon hearing that we were heading to a nearby ryokan, our host offered to drive us over for free (and refused the cash we pulled out of our wallets multiple times). The food was amazing as well!
A traditional onsen ryokan in a quaint mountain village. Our room was lovely and much larger than expected. The kotatsu was a great addition and we used it often. We had a room with a private bath, definitely worth the extra cost. The food was the best meal I had the entire trip, I was so full by the end I could barely get back to my room. The staff were so kind and one person even spoke excellent English. My only regret was that we didn’t stay longer
The owner is very friendly and made us felt very welcome. The place has been renovated and is clean and comfortable. The food is very good and what you can expect of a good ryokan. Onsen is very comforting. As the place is small, there is no need to fight for place in onsen.
What an incredible ryokan! Breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious and the room was very comfortable with my own toilet adjacent to my room; only the onsen/shower is shared. Right in the centre of town - an easy walk from the bus stop but they provide a shuttle service if you need it.
