The food was really good. The view from the room, the big bath and the breakfast area was really nice too, but it was cloudy when we were there.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at this traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Traditional ryokan experience with tatami rooms and onsen.
The hosts do not speak English so it was quite interesting to speak using mobile translators (but everything was OK ;)). The woman was really nice and warmcharming.
We had really nice and big room with view to garden with small pond and fish.
Onsen - bath - was also a great experience and there was noone! Just relax and calm.
The location was also good - close to Takaoka station.
I love how the owner in the ryokan has a very warm and welcoming demeanour. Most importantly, the Japanese traditional ryokan experience is beautifully well-preserved. Truly a must-have experience in a lifetime!
The hotel is in a very convenient location beside the train station and close to shops/restaurants. We loved having the Onsen in the hotel and it was not crowded during our 4 day stay.
charming Ryokan with very helpful and welcoming hosts. the room was super clean and vast with a view on a pond. all the facilities allowed us to have a great stay. the Japanese breakfast was tasty and healthy.
Japanese breakfast was really good. Also enjoyed the old-style ryokan experience of tatami room & futons. (yes, means you walk down the hall for toilet and wash basins).
Comfortable genuine Japanese ryokan inn close to the Daibutsu Giant Buddha and on the city heritage trail. Quiet old world charm. Lovely gracious owner and family who were very attentive. Large traditional room with Koi carp pond outside the window. Very clean shared WC and Onsen facilities. Japanese breakfast served in private dining room was very carefully prepared. The kind owner accommodated our need to leave very early on last day.
The couple that own the place were very kind. We had a beautiful room with a view of the koi pond. We were greeted with absolutely delicious cookies and tea. The onsen was simple, but met our needs. All and all it was a really lovely stay.
