This was a wonderful traditional ryokan with a lot of interesting history that is on the Nakasendo. Convenient location on the way to the Kiso valley from the Mt. Fuji area. Beautiful garden view from our room. Both the dinner and breakfast were delicious with a wide variety of dishes. Would definitely stay here again!

Everything was fantastic, and best was the riverside onsen! Rooms were big and very well furnished and clean. Meals were in individual dining rooms. Service top notch and they had English speaking staff! The normal onsens were clean and easy to book too. Comfortable lobby. Food had good variety and was tasty,
Experience culture authentically with a stay at these traditional Japanese-style accommodations. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath, plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
After two weeks of campervan we wanted to end our Japan trip with a ryokan stay. We are very happy we booked this place! Most amazingly was the private outdoor onsen.
Rooms were big and extremely clean. There was some nice matcha tea and hot water provided, so we could enjoy the little tea room! Also there were yukatas we could borrow. Staff was also extremely kind!
Great service, there's an outdoor and indoor onsen. The lady helped me with her food recommendations around the area. There's also an elevator so you don't have to carry your luggage up the ryokan! Please read the instructions provided especially for which onsen you can go to (so you'll have to remember the Japanese characters for Man and Woman) and know when the outdoor onsen is available to guests and when it is available for private use. I used a car so this place was good for me. It had a lot of parking.
I had the best night in Gingetsu. After onsen, I've slept like a baby. The tatami beds were really comfy, especially pilows filled with beans! The room was really beautiful.
The staff was very friendly, english speaking and helpful! Also our room was amazing + the onsen (even a private onsen booking is possible) is fantastic!
