All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay truly enjoyable. The shuttle service from the bus station was a thoughtful touch that made our arrival smooth and stress-free. The staff also provided excellent recommendations for local attractions, which added to our overall experience.
The traditional Japanese food served at Asafuji was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. We were also touched by the thoughtful treats prepared for the kids, which made my son feel special and added a warm, family-friendly atmosphere to our stay.
Thank you to the entire team at Asafuji for your hospitality. We highly recommend this wonderful hotel and would gladly return in the future!
PS: for future guests, if you wake up early in the morning, take a short walk to the right side of the hotel, following the lake. You’ll be rewarded with a stunning view of Mount Fuji—an unforgettable experience!

The room was extremely nice and relaxing!!! We chose the room with the sauna and private outdoor onsen and it was very large and comfortable! The dinner was absolutely fantastic. It felt like we were at a Michelin Star restaurant with the attentive waitstaff and the 12 course exceptional meal. The bus to Tokyo picks up right in front of the ryokan so that was very convenient!

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at!! Spacious room. Beautiful ambiance. Great onsen. We chose to book our the private one. Hotel is also gracious enough have complimentary drinks and small bites throughout the day.
They are quite clear that there is no view of mt Fuji from hotel, but it’d really only a 10 min walk to see it in the other side of lake. It’s also next to the tourist cable car and boat ride if you’re keen for more views.
Really great value and highly recommend!

The lobby was nice. The open-air private bath was perfect. The breakfast was delicious and the room was very nice.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at these traditional Japanese-style accommodations. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath, plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Lovely family runs ryokan that provides a homely atmosphere. The futons were soft and comfortable. We were a big family travelling together all of us agreed that the rooms were cosy and spacious with plenty of sunlight flooding in. On top of that was we were able to see the stunning view of the Fuji mountain from our rooms. Love the traditional onsens, not one but two. Great location and the Fuji 5 lakes nearby. We initially lost our way to get there, but thanks to the friendly hosts who went outside to meet us.
Owner is friendly and helpful, speaks basic English. Accommodation is a nice Japanese style room with futon and there is non-private onsen access in the accommodation.
This sweet little inn was one of our best stays in Japan. We loved the onsen (hot spring bath), the amazing views on mount Fuji, the stillness and the lovely hospitality. The room was huge and well equipped. The japanese breakfast was very nice too.
The most lovely host ever, Amano-san really makes you feel welcome.
If you stay here you should get dinner and breakfast the food is so good.
The futon is very comfortable and cozy.
The Mt Fuji view is spectacular.
The onsen was very warm and nice.
The ambient was nice.
The host is lovely as her ryokan. The room is very spacious, with a beautiful view on Fuji San, futons are very good.
Onsens are nice.
The breakfast’s delicious.
A very nice guesthouse and a very gentle host !! 10 minutes by walk from bus stops and Ochino Hakkai.
The room is spacious and comfortable, as the futons. The onsen is very appreciable after a day of walk.
Will come back with pleasure !
Breakfast and dinner was sumptuous. The room was very clean and spacious, we also had a very nice view of Mount Fuji from parts of the room. Private onsen was excellent as well. Everything was provided like a 5-star hotel, from toiletries to drinks, they even had a towel warmer! The bed was more comfortable than some hotels. The apartment had elements of a ryokan yet was modern like a service apartment. We exceptionally love the service of the hosts :)
perfect stay for anyone who wants to experience a ryokan. it was well stocked with amenities, and they even provided a yukata to wear for the onsen! we liked that we could use the onsen privately for 30 minutes max. each time. the host was very warm and welcoming. i was really looking forward to seeing mt. fuji from our room but the weather did not permit unfortunately :( wish we could’ve stayed longer because the weather had cleared up the next day!!!
We had an amazing experience. The family managing the Ryokan is very welcome and they all speak good English.
The room was very big, with great views and comfortable. TheY have complimentary hot spring for guest use.
We would definitely recommend to book the stay with the traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast, all the dishes were delicious.
