The location was quiet, with easy access to the beach and wonderful views of Mount Fuji. The hot pools were great, with inside and outside options. Meals were excellent Japanese fare. A convenience store across the road had a great range of products. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

This was only our second ryokan experience, so we don't really have a reference for comparison. However, we could barely find any fault with this one. The room was beautiful, spacious and well equipped, as were both onsens. Dinner was delicious, staff was professional and spoke enough English. I definitely recommend taking the dinner option, and coming on time (before 6pm).

Overall
The hotel was absolutely incredible. A great ryokan experience with extremely friendly and courteous staff who often went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. We were served by Sora Tatebayashi who was absolutely incredible and extremely helpful and everyone at the hotel was friendly and thoughtful. If you are looking for a great ryokan experience with amazing onsens and facilities, I highly recommend Hotel Tenbo and make sure to get the room with the mountain view!
View and location
A truly breathtaking view of Mt Fuji from our room. Highly recommended to stay in the room with the mountain view. The location was great and was very close to the Izu panorama park and the hotel also offers drop off and pick up at Igu Nagoaka Station.
Staff and service
The service at the hotel was excellent and the staff were always keen to help and were so thoughtful and always willing to go above and beyond to deliver the best service possible, which was truly appreciated.

A beautiful Japanese ryokan experience. We loved the private and public onsens - so relaxing. The staff were very helpful and made their best effort to accommodate our requests even with the language barrier (we don't speak any Japanese). Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the surrounding hills and walking trails were lovely to explore.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at this traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Cute local run hotel near the harbor city, onsen is wonderful, staff so kind and lovely, room very large for the family in a traditional way, we come back for sure, many thanks for everything.
The house is wonderful! We really enjoyed staying here. The historic house is newly and carefully renovated. The rooms are super clean and very quiet. The beds/futons were also very comfortable. There is a lot of green around the village.
The relaxed village itself is definitely worth a visit. You have a great view of Fujisan and beautiful nature.
The family welcomed us warmly and took care that there is everything needed.
We definitely recommend staying at this house.
Traditional Japanese style accommodation in perfect location. Choice of beds either futon style or framed beds. Easy walk from station, near to beach, park, river, shopping, views of Mount Fuji. Owner very helpful with great recommendations of places to eat. Lots of activities to do. Great for running, swimming, cycling, boat cruise which was amazing.
Terumi-san is a wonderful host who called a dozen bike shops to help me find the right spare part that would allow me to continue my cycling journey. I was amazed she would do that for me. I loved the guest house too, traditional style tatami room, all facilities a solo teaveller needs too, quiet neighbourhood and supermarket nearby.
Very comfortable and clean and the ryokan owner was very welcoming and friendly. The area was very quiet but there were many good cafe and and supermarket next door. I saw Fuji San from the street outside the ryokan and there was fresh drinking water in a spring very close!
Location is a bit difficult to find. Parking lot is around the corner, a 200 m walk from the place.
Facilities are all new, it is a renovated traditional house, with tatami and futon beddding. Kitchen is a bonus, we made our family breakfast!
