Staff were fabulous. Incredibly helpful. They were very accommodating, organised taxi to meet us at the station, accepted delivery of a parcel and held it until we arrived, organised for us to have a late dinner on arrival. Room was extremely comfortable as were the beds. Couldn't fault the accommodation. Fabulous outside Onsen. Loved the tiny furnicular to take you up to the Onsen.

I had booked with breakfast and dinner. Excellent food for dinner, menu changed every night. Breakfast was also good, but for a hotel of this category I found that plastic cups and glasses don't quite match the feel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Close to train station to visit Takamatsu ecc.

Perfect location less than a minute from the stairs to the shrine. Only a 10 minute walk to the train. Loads of shops line the stairs. The hotel itself was exceptional: staff, facilities, onsen, restaurant, room - all were absolutely top notch. One of our best stays in Japan!
Only a 3-minute drive from JR Kotohira Station with the hotel's free shuttle, こんぴら温泉湯元八千代 features a rooftop hot spring bath, Japanese cuisine and free Wi-Fi at the lobby.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at this traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
This ryokan was fantastic! The staff were incredibly polite, helpful, and bilingual which made the experience very smooth. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were deliciously prepared. The room was also newly refurbished, adding to the modern and comfortable atmosphere.
Very friendly owner and staff and the food was great! We stayed two nights and got completely different meals for dinner, which were both fantastic. You can go to the next door hotel for nice open-air onsen and mention the ryokan and get a discounted entry ticket, and the onsen is really nice.
Traditional Japanese inn (ryokan), includes dinner and breakfast, has hot spring-fed baths (onsen). They were completely accommodating to our pescatarian diet. Multiple-course meals served beautifully. Very comfortable futons arranged by staff while you are out during the day. Location is for visiting Iya Valley, and vine bridge.
Ryokan located near the Vine Bridge with a bus stop next to it. The landlady was really nice and friendly! I can speak a couple words in Japanese and tried to communicate in this language with her or the staff whenever I could ; she would speak English when it was hard to communicate. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and generous. I felt bad for not being able to eat everything. The room was spacious and they provided a yukata to wear in the ryokan.
Brilliant, traditional style Ryokan with outdoor onsen with breathtaking views. You are taken to the onsen by a small cable car which adds to the unique experience.
Surrounded by lush green nature this traditional ryokan offers awesome food, the most friendly hosts we had on our journey, spacious rooms with all comfort one needs and an excellent onsen where you can relax in an outside bath listening to the gurgling river flowing below.
Cute old grandmother running the ryokan was able to get us a discount on the nearby onsen (though, I think that all the nearby properties have some kind of preferential rates, be sure to ask at the place you are staying). Otherwise the room was decent for what you pay.
