Location is perfect for Jodogahama beach, this is probably the only hotel you can walk to the beach from to catch the sunrise. The sea facing rooms also have an amazing view to catch the sunrise if you don’t want to walk down to the beach (10 minutes). Dinner buffet has great selection of local specialties with descriptions in Japanese. The hotel also has a good onsen with both indoor and outdoor onsen, and the men’s and women’s switch from one day to the next.

The Ryokan is directly at the coast and you can walk to a nice viewpoint of Jodogohama beach.

We loved this more traditional hotel for the rooms and comfort. Living and sleeping on tatamis was great. Our sea-side view was spectacular and the hotel was absolutely quiet. We enjoyed the superb breakfast and dinner every day. Walking the peninsula is a must, since everything is close by. Also, the staff was extremely welcoming!

Stunning small ryokan with all of the grace of traditional Japanese hospitality, but in a necessarily - due to the tsunami - more modern interpretation. The views are dialled up beyond 11. Feels luxurious but not opulent or vulgar. The attention to detail is flawless and subtle.

Gorgeous spacious ryokan lodge in a spectacular natural setting. The property has many trails and offers access to longer hikes as well. The breakfast and dinner buffets were very nice, and the rooms are large and comfortable with lovely views.

Almost every rooms seems to have an amazing view of the ocean. The buffet style dinner at first seemed like a cheap way of getting around ryokan style dining, but the quality was still very high and the buffet included a huge variety of things, which can appeal to people who are picky and don’t want to waste food they don’t enjoy that is part of a set meal. Convenient bus from Morioka Station and a taxi to take me back to the station in the morning.
