The best thing about this hotel was the view. It can not be beat. We had a sweeping vista of the town, mountains, the pagoda and the tori gate. The room was very spacious, the food was amazing (if you like traditional Japanese fare), the staff was very helpful and their luggage delivery service can not be beat. We left our bags at the hotel after check out and explored the town, then we headed to the port and gave the hotel a call, less than 10 minutes later they drove our bags to us.

Sara was our guide on the trip and she was absolute wonderful in explaining and answering all our questions. She was very entertaining and patient, my parents loved chatting with her when we checked in and during our meals. The baths were really relaxing, breakfast and dinner were really pretty and delicious. The location was very convenient and the hotel was lovely and accommodating for picking us up from the port as well as holding our bags after we checked out.

Our stay here was wonderful. The proprietors were incredibly sweet and helpful, with hands-down the best service we experienced while in Japan. We booked a Japanese-style room, and for 2 people, it was very spacious (including 2 washrooms). Our dinner was stellar, and we were given a little backstory on each dish that came out.
Miyajima Island gets very quiet and peaceful in the evening when all the day trippers go back to the mainland, so it's nice to walk around after dinner and get some night shots of the torii gate, and the lights across the sea. The ryokan also happens to be right next to the ferry station, so getting in and out is easy. Would absolutely come here again.

Lovely place. Excellent onsen. Very good food. Very friendly and efficient staff. The waiters at dinner were particularly attentive and kind and the chef remembered my wife’s food intolerances from the original booking, so we were very impressed. If you want a ryokan experience - yukata, onsen, traditional food - with a little extra comfort this place is highly recommended.
There was a wide range of amenities, hot spring, and the restaurant food was lovely we very much enjoyed our dinner and the staff were wonderful. We had a tatami style room and it was lovely of the staff to set up the futon whilst we had dinner. There were Yukatas to borrow for our stay as well and that was lovely.
View out the window to Miyajima was gorgeous. Loved the room with both beds and a futon tatami area.
Breakfast was great. Heaps of options, fresh and yummy!
Onsen was lovely!
Shuttle bus from the station was great and timetabling of it was great for us to get in and out of town.
This charming ryokan style hotel was like stepping back in time. Like others have mentioned, the hotel is dated, but it is well maintained and very clean. The view from the rooms out to the sea is lovely and futon beds very comfortable. The food was excellent and service exceptional. We enjoyed using the onsen facilities and rocking round in our yakuta. The shuttle service from the port was also very handy. We had a memorable stay and loved our time on Miyajima.
The hotel itself gives is beautifully designed and gives off a traditional ryokan vibe. The location is perfect and is a great option for those who plan to stay a night. They also provide yukatas and sandals for use around the island.
The onsen bath was also very pleasant and I was lucky enough to receive a free room upgrade. Would definitely visit again.
Miyajima is so beautiful! The hotel is right on the main walkway looking towards the water, so really easy to find from the ferry. It's. Beautiful traditional Ryokan with Tatami floors and futons and a public bath, which after a long day travelling or sightseeing was bliss! The staff were so friendly and helpful, with recommendations for dinner and helping us catch the bus to the beach for a cool off! My favourite place in Japan so far!
The staff were very kind and welcoming, the room was spacious with lovely views of the ocean. Deers were roaming around freely outside. Dinner was a traditional Japanese meal with many courses, all lovely. While we had dinner our futons were laid out for us and they were very comfortable, we all slept very well. My daughter and I visited the on-site onsen which was spacious and had a very nice outlook. We loved wearing our Yukata’s for dinner and breakfast, made the whole experience very special.
The room had great views and was spacious. The futons were comfortable. The personnel was really kind and helpful, giving tips for where to go in the island and nice restaurants. The ryokan has a two onsens you can book for free for one hour, one of them with a nice view to a small garden, really nice. There is a kitchen where you can cook yourself which is big and a nice common area. We could not enjoy the garden as we stayed only one night. I would stay here again. Good value for the money spent.
