The staff were very friendly and tried so hard to make our stay comfortable. They were friendly and helped us book taxis to the temple and to a train station in Osaka. They responded quickly to our needs and were definitely the highlight of the experience.

Beautiful location right next to a little river with waterfalls and views of the mountains nearby. We had a private open air bath on the patio, which we loved, and the staff was wonderful and were able to communicate well in English. There is also a wide variety of Japanese style foods available at the breakfast buffet. Very relaxing experience

It was very clean, the traditional Japanese breakfast was good(it may not be for everyone). The room was much larger than any other hotel I stayed at while in Japan. It is in a residential area with convenience stores near by and several mom and pop restaurants.

We received by far the best hospitality we have ever experienced at a hotel, and the room and meals were outstanding as well. We stayed in a “Studio with Spa Bath” room, and the in-room tub overlooking the river (with a window that opened) was just as decadent and relaxing as we had hoped. The staff were extremely nice and made us feel so welcome and cared for. Our breakfasts were also delightful introductions to Japanese breakfast cuisine—so beautiful and tasty. Thank you so much to the Hotel Wakamizu team!

Experience culture authentically with a stay at these traditional Japanese-style accommodations. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath, plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Very close to the train station- google maps says 18 mins... it's only 3-4 (and we had luggage!)
