Tabinoyado Saikawa, hotel in Kuroishi

Tabinoyado Saikawa enjoys a location in Kuroishi, 20 miles from Lake Towada and 22 miles from Sannai-Maruyama Site.

The dinner here is exceptional and they are happy to work with dietary restrictions. The breakfast was also amazing. The sheets were nice quality and the room was small but well outfitted. But what really made this ryokan special was the hostess Ranko, who was friendly and thoughtful. We'd definitely stay here again if we were in this part of Japan.

Kobori Ryokan, hotel in Kuroishi

A 5-minute walk from Chuo Hirosaki Train Station, Kobori Ryokan offers Japanese-style and Western rooms in a traditional building.

The service is quite good, but you should consider where you want to go in Hirosaki. Because you need to take the transportation in the city and it takes some times to go to the castle or other tourist spots in the city

Iroha Ryokan, hotel in Kuroishi

Only a 2-minute walk from JR Aomori Train Station, Iroha Ryokan offers simple Japanese-style rooms with a flat-screen TV.

The location is really nice, this house is small and quaint, a quiet, peaceful spot in Utsunomiya. The room is a mixed dormitory and beds were comfy, no claustrophobic capsule style hotel here! The host was incredibly kind and thoughtful, giving information about the area and providing contact in case of emergency or other issues. It was a wonderful stay, I truly hope to visit again!

It’s a family operated ryokan with private onsen. The owner is very friendly and attentive. Meals were prepared with tasty local produce with pleasant jazz on the background. The stories that the owner (Ms. Ranko) shared about the house and her family adds to the wonderful experience that we had in Nakano Momijiyama.

Everything! I am a tattoo bearer and I understand that we may not be able to use the onsen. Not only was the owner super understanding, they also had a private bath!! I LOVE THAT! We also last minute book our dinner and breakfast and she was very accommodating. The meals were both exceptional and I would 100% recommend this Ryokan if you want to enjoy an authentic ryokan experience!! Also we booked the room with private bathroom :)

Room was large, didn't lack anything. The Ryokan have two private onsen (indoor) you can use anytime. Staff was super friendly!! Meal was ok (not huge, but ok!), traditional Japanese style. Place was all trraditional style and located in a small town near a dam, with beatifull scenery. Very quiet place you can only access by bus. There is a combini nearby.

The ryokan itself is lovely and the staff was the most welcoming and hospitable to me and my family. My family had never been to a ryokan or experienced an onsen and it was a great first experience for them. As a vegetarian, I have found this ryokan to be the absolute best for the vegan food option out of the many ryokans and hotels I've stayed at in Japan. Cannot recommend enough!

Beautiful location on the winter with everything covered in snow. Many options for onsens which were not overly hot as they often are in Japan.
