Sometimes you come across a gem. This is one, and such a pleasant surprise in every regard. Our room was a very luxurious, Japanese style bedroom on 7th floor overlooking the gorge. The dinner was truly wonderful and they managed to provide gluten free soy sauce (coeliac), despite not claiming to provide for individual allergies.
Boasting river views, Hotel Ogawa provides accommodation with a spa and wellness centre, an open-air bath and a bar, around 19 km from Kurobe-Unazukionsen Station.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at this traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
This was a treat for us. We stayed one night to experience a traditional Japanese room, private onsen and the beauty of the Kurobe gorge. The hotel was beautiful, the staff so lovely and the views mind-blowing. You are right next to the train station too. Oh and the food *chefs kiss*
True Japanese style room, futons on tatami mats with traditional low table and floor seating for food. Also small conservatory attached, with another table and chairs, and french windows so you can walk out onto balcony to view the trains going into the Kurobe Gorge, the river, and the steeply wooded hillsides.
Lovely women’s only indoor Onsen, as well as an outside one. Privacy provided by bamboo screening and umbrella roof.
Shuttle bus to and from town/ railway station.
Brought “bento” breakfast to our room.
Clean modern and comfortable onsen hotel.
Good buffet style meals and plenty of parking
Large and well appointed room in annex tower.
Good value for money.
The room was spacious and I had a great view. The all-you-can-eat dinner and breakfast had a great selection. The hotel had a lovely onsen, which you can tell has been newly renovated. I can especially recommend the outdoor section of the onsen. However, please be aware that you cannot enter the onsen if you have tattoos. They do have a private family onsen that you can rent for 1 hour for 1000 yen. I really recommend this, if you for whatever reason cannot use the large onsen.
Amazing location in the valley with views of the river.
The room was very nice, the food super tasty and interesting.
Loved the outdoor onsen and the robes you get to wear whiles staying at the hotel
Great location as it was near to the Unazukionsen Station. Our room was spacious and had a great view of the Kurobe river. It was raining heavily on the day we checked out and the hotel offered shuttle service to the railway station.
Buffet dinner & breakfast offer great varieties of food. Fresh & delicious. Rooms are spacious & comfortable. Enjoy the good onsen with stunning views & tranquil environments. Table tennis & karaoke available. Great location, close to all transport & points of attraction. Staffs are helpful & friendly. Value for money. Vacation here far exceeds my expectation and surely I will re-visit this hotel.
Stayed with toddler, an excellent choice for a family. Great food, lots to see and to do. Onsen was amazing. We were the only foreigners, my face some language barriers.
Staff were incredibly helpful. Onsen is wonderful and lots of extra amenities and activities to do within the hotel. Lots of choice for food in the buffet at breakfast and dinner.
