The room was spacious, the private bath was fantastic, and the food was excellent. More importantly, the staff could not have been more patient and kind despite our extremely limited Japanese language skills.

This is one of our most memorable stay in Japan. Authentic ryokan - room is spacious, good number of onsens. Very comfortable tatami and futon beds with pillows. Fantastic Japanese traditional Kaiseki cuisine - dinner and breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff - help to drive us to the nearby bus stop.

The room was spacious and the historic atmosphere of the hotel was wonderful. The cave onsen was interesting, but not very hot honestly. Situated along the riverside was dramatic and so picturesque. I was fine sleeping on the futon mattresses on the tatami mats, but my friend complained that she was very uncomfortable. The food was ever-so delicious, but just too much for us old folks. It is a very romantic atmosphere and walking around the village was enjoyable.
Featuring a bar, Gekkoju Kurokawa offers rooms in Minamioguni, less than 0.6 mi from Kurokawa Onsen. This 5-star ryokan offers free shuttle service.

Gosyo Gekkoujyo is an outstanding experience from start to finish. The exceptional staff made us feel well cared for throughout our stay. Our room had an outdoor cave onsen that we never wanted to leave. The food was the highlight - we spent over four hours a day eating. That said, if you don’t enjoy all things Japanese then this might not be the place for you.

The food was exceptional. My son really enjoyed every dish. Private bath was very nice. It's half open air with dry area to get change. Dryer and amenities are provided, very convenient. Around the area was very nice and shady. It feels cool even in the mid of summer.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at these traditional Japanese-style accommodations. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath, plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Great for a cool trip away from the heat of the cities, close to hiking and other outdoor activities.
Rooms are massive, clean with good facilities. Free indoor outdoor and private onsens available.
Staff are very friendly and accommodating.
There is a small convenience shop and BBQ restaurant on site .
Little gem in the middle of majestic mountains. Specious rooms and amazing onsen by the river bank. I regret I book other accommodation instead of spending more nights there. If you like nature, quiet, secluded accommodation this is perfect place for you.
I would recommend to stay atleast 2 nights in this resort because the check in time is 4pm and 10:30am for check out. The room is spacious and It comes with 2 private Onsen for Akane room.(Indoor & Outdoor) The enviroment is good for those who seek for peace of mind as the place is far from Town. It takes 40 mins to reach fr Özü town or an hour travel from ASO mountain to the resort. The breakfast serve in Japanese cuisine.
We really enjoy the time we spent here. With the indoor n outdoor private onsen, I couldn’t ask for more. From the meal, facilities, staff’s service all are in high quality. We would like to come again for our next visit. A memorable highlight in our trip. Thank you spagreenness!
Big apartment, it has a main room with beds, couch, table and a small kitchen and it has a second room Japanese style with tatami. From the windows there is view to the forest.
The outdoor onsen has a beautifull location in the forest.
Breakfast is buffet with Japanese food.
The kitchen has a small stove, refrigerator and a water kettle. There are no pots, pans, plates and cuttlery.
