We had a very enjoyable stay at Loquat and the team were unbelievable good. The dinner was simply amazing and we were caught by surprise how good it was! Would highly recommend staying here for a more authentic Japanese experience. (We are Australians btw)

This was our first visit to Shuzenji, and we were very impressed by the natural beauty of this area and the warm hospitality of AKARI KAORI. The hotel staff is exceptionally friendly and patient, making my parents' first Ryokan experience comfortable and welcoming.
Although the place is not big, every detail is carefully arranged and designed, so we never felt cramped. The Yukata provided were a delightful touch, especially with the option for female guests to choose special ones. Guests can wear Yukata to the dining room and even for a walk outside. New towels and socks were also provided, which added to our comfort.
The dining experience was superb, with both dinner and breakfast offering fine dining quality. The food was delicious, fresh, and there was a wide variety. We were overwhelmed by the choices! The staff even provided alternatives for my husband, who chose not to eat seafood. Just make sure to advise them in advance if you have special dietary needs.
The location is also a big plus, being really close to the bamboo grove. It's a very nice place to go for a walk after dinner, and you're guaranteed to be stuffed from the wonderful meals!
Overall, our stay at AKARI KAORI was a memorable and delightful experience, thanks to the natural beauty of Shuzenji and the hotel's excellent hospitality.

Staff are very kind. Food is the greatest I have ever had considering the onsen hotels I have stayed before. The view from the room is like traditional Japanese style garden. Very relaxing experience! The manager gave us a ride back to Shuzenji station, and along the way the manager tried to use translator to chat with us. Really nice experience.

Loved everything about this accommodation. To have your own private onsen was great even though there was a communal one at the property. Extremely comfortable, exceptional use of space, great facilities and a gem to find this in a quite part of the Izu Peninsula.

The location was great, next to the beach, and the rooms has seaside view. We went right at the end of Golden Week, so the ryokan was pretty empty—it felt like we had almost everything to ourselves. We had the Japanese-style room with a renovated bathroom, which was nice. The keiseki dinner was good, and some of the desserts at the dessert table that go with the dinner were delicious as well. The private bath was a great experience with a scenic seaside view.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at this traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.

One of the highlights of our accommodation was the private hot spring. The rooms adorned with tatami mats were exceptionally beautiful. The entire house was so beautiful and we thorough enjoyed every moment of our stay.
Thank you so much!
This is an authentic Ryokan and Onsen. The staff are exceptionally helpful and traditional in every way. The food is phenomenal (incl. Japanese style breakfast).
This was a beautiful and relaxing retreat.
Pretty much perfect. Excellent location just out of the main part of town but easy walking distance to everything, with access to the Sakura lined walking path along the river. Quiet, calm and peaceful and exactly as we would want a ryokan in a small and charming onsen town to be. Well prepared meals, friendly and attentive service from check in to check out
We went there for a cycling trip and it was the perfect homebase. We immediately felt at home, the breakfast was traditional japanese and really delicious every day. The hospitality was immaculate and after our long rides we really enjoyed the onsen to relax. The room was tidy and we slept really well on the futon. Do recommend and definitely would love to come back there some time.
The hotel staff was super nice and helpful. One of my friends forgot his ear-pods in the room and we had left Izu. The hotel staff quickly helped to send the ear-pods to our new hotel. Good view at the mountain and the stream from the room window. 4 private onsens for reservation and 1 public one. The futons are comfortable for sleep. The traditional Yukata was offered during the stay.
A wonderful stay with comfortable futon beds, private balconies overlooking the peaceful river, and a beautifully designed ryokan with modern Japanese interiors. The two onsen baths onsite are a great way to relax after a long day, and be sure to try the delicious home-cooked Japanese breakfast offered by the kind hostess! Could not recommend this stay more highly!

Loved the super large family room. Lovely tatami rooms with futons. Indeed a bit old furniture, but still very nice and spacious.
Very nice onsen.

Very nice experience for all at a very reasonable price.
