The reservation ladies are very friendly both in Japanese and in English. We didn't try the public onsen, However the House private Onsen is the best that we can enjoy, fresh clean hot spring water flowing 24 hours. The kitchen, the washing and gathering rooms accommodate us well. A nice room for 4 with the river view is so beautiful especially at night. Some parking places around the House. Very convenient.

This accommodation felt like a traditional Japanese style resort. We loved how big the whole place was and there were outdoor spaces to explore. A warm cute coat, on top of the usual yukata, was provided so we could go out into the cold to the restaurants and onsens. The main highlight was being able to experience staying in a traditional Japanese house with dark wood and tatami. Even the layout of the space was traditional and gave us a taste of Japanese living in the older days.
Since this place is run by the same company operating Dormy Inns, there were the standard supper ramens, yakults and popsicles. There were also free baked sweet potatoes at 6pm and tasty oden at 7pm. It was a nice place to relax and just enjoy the facilities within the accommodation - we felt no need to get out after checking in. After breakfast, we tried out some of the traditional games and took a short walk before checking out. Shuttle bus was available at frequent intervals from Ito Kogen station.
We found the dinner quite value-for-money. The dinner was delicious with good portion size - got to try seafood shabu shabu for the first time.

I stayed in a beautiful japanese-style room on the 2nd floor with private semi-open air bath. The room has all the free amenities you could wish for including toothbrush, hairbrush, beer, snacks, shampoo, socks, etc. and a yukata to wear around. The futon was the most comfortable bed I've slept on, the views from the room & outdoor bath were gorgeous. When I wasn't walking the nearby trails or popping into the town I was relaxing in the room or bath with sake. This was a welcome reset in the middle of an active vacation.
This is my second time staying at zagyosoh and I admit a big reason I came back was due to the Japanese restaurant and it did not disappoint! I appreciated the care, attention to detail, service, and most of all the deliciousness. We requested vegetarian and were impressed with the variety in each meal across 2 nights stay.

Staff are very friendly and proactive in providing additional support. My family and I had a wonderful time spending here, the picturesque scenery, the comfortable and authentic setting in the room, the beautiful ikebana deco and Japanese arts around making this place so aesthetically appealing. The food was beautifully presented and tasted so delicious. We enjoyed our stay so much and would like to stay here next trip to Ito.

my first time in a ryokan: great experience altogether. very confortable room with futons, nice living/bedroom with two little tables, fridge, kettle with complimentary green tea + a sweet.
the use of the internal onsen was great, very clean, quiet.
complimentary yukata to use while there was amazing to get into the real atmosphere.
free toiletries were also great.
the ryokan is 10min by public bus from the main station, close to supermarkets and a couple of places to eat.
Village centre is 10min walk.
We loved this traditional japanese house. I'm so glad we were able to stay here. There are different supermarkets and restaurants around. We were able to cook everyday. The beach is less than 5min from the house, same for the train station, super close to the accommodation. The experience of sleeping in the tatami was great and super comfortable. The bathroom is also a hot spring and it is super cool and relaxing. I highly recommend this place.
This is an old school Ryokan, the building is well kept but you can feel that it is old and authentic. The meals were excellent (both dinner and breakfast) and were served in the room, which has its pluses but is also a little strange as there is staff in your room early in the mornings. The staff is very nice and accommodating.
The outside onsen is beautiful and is accessed with a fenicular which is a fun experience.
We arrived with a baby and we had a great experience.
It’s a Ryokan hostel with a resting places at ground floor. Friendly staff explained well about the place. Onsen is a plus. Room is nice, with direct river view from the balcony. Close walk from Ito station.
Really beautiful hostel, we had a private river view room and it was fantastic. Futons were comfortable and we had a private sink and fridge. The area is lovely and easy to walk from the station. The onsen was fantastic, very spacious and clean, we wish we’d stayed longer.
K’s house is so lovely. The room was large and airy with large windows opening over the water course outside. Bedding was traditional futon and there is the option to rent yukatas which is nice. The kitchen and laundry area is great and the onsen fantastic. The private one always seemed to be available. It’s easy to find, great location and about a 10 minute walk from the station.
Great value for money in the area, gorgeous spot overlooking the river in a historical Ryokan. Lovely living areas. We wanted to try the private onsen but it was occupied for most of the night. Tatami mats are cosy and air conditioning is in the room.
a very famous ryokan that K onsen bought over. it is a very old and historical so please listen to the staff and don't roll or drag your luggage on the floors and stairs. which is to say, don't bring heavy luggages as the rooms are all on higher levels
Room is very clean and love love love the tatami room. Onsen is really lovely too. they have 2 private onsens, but they are rather small so the shared onsen will be better.
lounge area is very big with different areas.
I loved the traditional Japanese atmosphere in this 100 year old building. The room had tatami mat floors and futon beds with super fluffy blankets. The staff was extremely kind and helpful and spoke English. The included onsen was a great experience and they had the option of both public and private.
