It was an amazing ryokan! Of course, we have nothing to compare it to since it was our first experience, but it exceeded all our expectations.
1. The private bath in the room was fantastic! My boyfriend and I were absolutely thrilled with it. Plus, the view from the room was stunning.
2. The kaiseki was incredible! Every dish was unique and delicious. They were beautifully decorated for the momiji (autumn leaves) season, which was such a lovely touch.
3. The hot springs themselves were wonderful; it was such a pleasure to spend time there. They were also very understanding about my tattoo. It’s quite large and on my ribs, but they gave me two big skin-colored patches that completely covered it, so I didn’t scare anyone. :)
4. The yukatas were beautiful. And there’s a manga corner in the lobby on the first floor—perfect for some reading! :)
5. The transfer service was very convenient. We missed the 3:30 PM shuttle from Ikeda Station and could only arrive at 7:00 PM. However, I called the hotel at 4:00 PM to let them know we missed the transfer and asked if it was possible for them to pick us up at 7:00 PM instead. The staff kindly informed me that the transport would be waiting for us at the designated time at Ikeda Station. And that’s exactly what happened—everything went smoothly and was very convenient.

We received by far the best hospitality we have ever experienced at a hotel, and the room and meals were outstanding as well. We stayed in a “Studio with Spa Bath” room, and the in-room tub overlooking the river (with a window that opened) was just as decadent and relaxing as we had hoped. The staff were extremely nice and made us feel so welcome and cared for. Our breakfasts were also delightful introductions to Japanese breakfast cuisine—so beautiful and tasty. Thank you so much to the Hotel Wakamizu team!

The staff were very friendly and tried so hard to make our stay comfortable. They were friendly and helped us book taxis to the temple and to a train station in Osaka. They responded quickly to our needs and were definitely the highlight of the experience.

Excellent service and staff. The private onsen rooms were wonderful and easy to book. We used the outdoor ones which were beautifully designed and quiet with fresh air. We also enjoyed the spacious suite that we stayed in which also had its own bath. The tatami room and futons were a nice touch. The property has a mini-bus shuttle to take us to points in town when we didn’t feel like walking or had luggage. Be sure to book kaiseki meals at the restaurant or try the in-room breakfast. The food is delicious.
Boasting an open-air hot springs bath and spacious garden, Arima Grand Hotel is located a 10-minute walk away from Arima Onsen Station. Free WiFi is available in all rooms.

Amazing hotel. Not a cheap one, but it is definitelly worth the money. We definitelly recommend to take a room with a view, seeing mountains in the morning was wonderful. We didn't have a ryokan-type room but were still amazed by the quiality of everything - cleanliness, design, etc.
Our room had a capsule coffee machine, a set for drinking tea, hair brushes, hair pins and other small things that added a pinch of comfort to our stay. The hotel also provides guests with Japanese-style clothing: a set of a "shirt" and pants, and a yukata. You can walk in it everywhere in the hotel which was very nice.
The hotel has public onsens on two floors, both have open-air baths. The staff is very understanding and would help with the rules of visiting. You can also book private onsens that turned out to be not very expensive.
Sometimes the hotel holds special events. We managed to visit stargazing and saw Jupiter through a telescope while eating sweet potatos!
The hotel provides a bus that regularly travels through the Arima village. You can also call the hotel to pick you up. The village itself is very beautiful. There is a ropeway to the nearby mountain. I heard you can also hike to the summit.
Founded in the 12th century and beloved by Junichiro Tanizaki and other Japanese novelists, Tosen Goshobo is the oldest of the hot-spring inns at Arima.
Offering stylish rooms with shoji paper screens and Western beds, Hotel Hanakoyado is only a 6-minute walk from Arima Onsen Train Station. It features hot-spring baths and a massage service.

The wonderful experience of Onsen Ryokan. The coziness, how they greet the customer. The room was great, love the little seating area. Modern facilities and yet traditional kinds of design. The kaiseki dinner prepared was amazing, lovely chef.
A few steps from Onsen-ji Temple in Kobe, Arimasansoh Goshobessho offers accommodations with access to a hot tub, spa facilities, and wellness packages.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at these traditional Japanese-style accommodations. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath, plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
It was charming - we picked traditional Japanese rooms. We loved the helpful staff, the onsen and the dinner was amazing. We got lots of help cooking it!
Beatuiful scenery. We booked a room with private bath, which was open to the beautiful mountainous nature.
The staff were the best and most kind I've ever experienced. And the breakfast was so good. I haven't felt more at peace. 11/10 for me, will most likely visit this Ryokan again just for the wonderful time I had there. The room was exceptional also.
If you have the chance, I won't recommend missing it :)
Very nice option to stay in walking distance to Itami airport. Comfy bed, nice and very clean room, tea/coffee available to prepare in the room, and the hotel onsen was highly appreciated too.
Lots of restaurants in walking distance, and also JR train station and bus station - so all you need for a stopover or layover in Itami.
