Experience culture authentically with a stay at these traditional Japanese-style accommodations. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath, plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Best place to stay in Hirosaki with all the expected comfort from Dormy Inn. Beautiful onsen as always with views on Hirosaki. Practical on site parking.
A beautiful old Ryokan with well-kept wooden interior, a lovely garden and a nice in-house onsen. Close to Hirosaki castle. Some interesting history to be discovered in the house. The tatami were wonderful, as was the yukata provided. The host was so kind to invite us for a tasty drink at the private bar, and gave excellent recommendations for sights and dining in Hirosaki.
The staff here are absolutely amazing. They go beyond to make your stay as perfect as can be. Free breakfasts, lifts too and from the town centres. Super friendly abd accommodating.
Modern ryokan style rooms with great facilities. Bento breakfasts delivered to your door
The owners are lovely and really really hospitable people (with a good sense of humour too). I loved the authentic Japanese experience and was kindly driven to the onsen 3 times!!
Hirosaki itself is beautiful and the castle is about a 35 minute walk away, although I personally recommend the modern art museum.

Good value for money- welcome drink, breakfast, and onsen were included with my stay. I appreciated the little things they provided too, like bath salts and soothing leg patches.
Staff were friendly, and spoke a bit of English. They accommodated my request to receive an Amazon delivery for me while I went out sightseeing.
The room was pretty clean, and slightly cramped, but that's the norm for a business hotel.
The onsen is pretty accessible, and although it's not a true onsen, it serves its purpose well.
The hotel's location is extremely convenient, sandwiching a bus terminal together with the JR Hirosaki station.
Traditional breakfast, cooking my own scrambled egg and bacon on the table top stove, lovely service, sofa in the room, old style decor, being shown to my room, communal bath as well as room bath, traditional ryokan guest clothing.
Apart from the fact that all the staff were helpful and friendly, this hotel has one of the best onsen I've visited. It is located on the top floor ofthe hotel, and the outdoor onsen in particular is beautiful and peaceful. The crisp night air contrasts with the hot spring water. The trees, plants and lighting, combined with the views of the night sky are perfect.
