We had luck that it was raining while we were in the outdoor spa. The rain falling and sea splashing made the hot bath extremely memorable.

The food was really good. The view from the room, the big bath and the breakfast area was really nice too, but it was cloudy when we were there.

Daibutsu Ryokan, hotel in Himi

Located just steps from giant Buddha statue Takaoka Daibutsu, Japanese-style inn Ryokan Daibutsu lies in the heart of historical Takaoka City. All rooms have free Wi-Fi access.

The place truly felt like an authentic Japanese traditional inn experience with an excellent host taking care of us. We felt very welcomed, and the meals prepared were exceptional. The shared bathroom was clean and well-kept, and the WiFi was exceptionally fast at 150 Mbps.

A nice small ryokan in a remote place. Everything was just fine, including the room, onsen with rotenburo, food, etc. Just fine, but nothing special. Apart from the view: pure endless sea - it made this accommodation worth the price (but not a penny more).
