Hagi No Yado Tomoe is a charming historic Inn that provides a high standard of accommodation and customer service.
The building is lovely with a stunning large zen garden.
Our tatami room was spacious, clean and comfortable with separate entrance room and bedroom offering very comfortable western style beds.
There were large windows offering lovely garden and river views.
Inn staff were very helpful and prior to arriving our bus station pick-up was arranged and a Shrine tour for the next day, that was very enjoyable and informative.
The Inn also provided good information for further self-planned exploration of wonderful Hagi and as the weather was very hot when there, drove us to a starting point for our self exploration.
All information regarding the use of the on-site onsen was provided with lovely high quality products and requirements provided in the room.
The traditional breakfasts were truly exceptional with a great deal of care and expertise involved in providing the best service and presentation possible and using amazing local produce.
I highly recommend the Inn and would love to stay again.

View from onsen really nice over the water. Staff were so friendly (beyond usual friendly), I had the half board and it was great quality and plentiful. View from room really nice. Huge room. Opening windows. Everything was very well organised (people to guide you to a parking spot, dining, etc)

High quality zen hotel with nice onsen and great staff
Set 37 km from Kuruson-zan Shuzen-ji Temple, Yamamura Bekkan provides accommodation in Nagato with access to a hot spring bath. This 3-star ryokan offers a lift and luggage storage space.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at this traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Breakfast and Dinner was included in the price and both meals were excellent. Enjoyed the Onsen and the view from the hotel. Some nice walking trails easily accessible from the hotel. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful during our stay and shuttle buses are available to and from Hagi.
The location is quite good and it is in a position to oversee the town. The car park is in front of the hotel and parking is easy. The hot spring is very nice and enjoyable.
We loved EVERYTHING about this hotel. The staff are lovely, the meals are wonderful, the onsen is just amazing with its sensational views. The room facilities may be a little dated but they in no way detract from the stay. It's a fabulous place to stay in Hagi.
They even put a "woman" sign (just for me) at the entrance to the onsen as I was the only non-Japanese female staying so I would know which entrance to use.
Beautiful, peaceful room with garden view/access. Opted for half-board with traditional dinner and breakfast - great food and great value for money. Onsen on site. Staff were all very friendly.
It is a beautiful traditional inn. I loved the rock gardens and onsen baths. The rental bikes are powered and the location is great, just a short cycle along the beach to the castle area. All of the staff were fantastic.
This was my first experience with a ryokan and I was amazed. The care with which you are treated will spoil you. The food was exceptional. The in room dinner dining was lovely, particularly since you can gaze out at the serene garden between courses. The Onsen experience was very relaxing.
