The best parts about our stay are: 1. Guests at this hotel can use the public bath at its sister hotels (i.e., much more high-end hotels such as Hotel Ofutei), which was blast for us! It is likely these hotels have the same owner; 2. The service of the staff members is top notch - they helped us with our big suitcases to and from the shuttle bus location, which was a big deal; they also gave great recommendations for restaurants and helped us make reservations; 3. The breakfasts were top notch. However, if we could not use the public baths at Hotel Ofutei, then I would not recommend this hotel for the price they charge. Being able to do 1 makes it worthwhile.
Keishokan Sazanamitei provides a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within a 3-minute walk of Tomonotsu Museum and 400 yards of Tomonoura Museum of History and Folklore.

We very much enjoyed this Ryokan. They offered a shuttle from the train station, which is helpful as they are in Tomonoura . Easier than taking the bus if you are travelling by train! As soon as we arrived the helpfulness and professionalism of the staff was evident. This impressed us through out our stay. The door staff, the front desk staff and the dining staff - all exemplary. Our room was lovely with interesting wall finishings and a view over the water. The public areas were also attractive. Our meals were also overlooking the water and just delicious. We found having these wonderful traditional meals to be a highlight of our trip to Japan. While weather did not fully cooperate during our stay we still had a lovely hike on the adjacent island easily accessible by a short boat ride ( which runs continuously throughout the day). They also had a nice onsen with outdoor area.
Ryokan Onomichi Nishiyama is a recently renovated ryokan in Onomichi where guests can make the most of its garden and shared lounge.

We liked everything! One of the best decisions we made to stay overnight at the Ryokan Onomichi Nishiyama. The staff was fantastic and went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. We were also pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the dinner and breakfast which were included with our booking.
Offering quiet street views, "ヒトツル"Hitotsuru in Setouchi in Momojima features accommodations, free bikes, and a shared lounge. With sea views, this accommodation provides a balcony.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at these traditional Japanese-style accommodations. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath, plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Loved the apartment with a great bed to sleep. There's also a bathroom with shower but why would you when there is a public bath available. The yukata you can use is locally designed and looked gorgeous
The hotel is also perfectly central located close to the station and Fukuyama castle.
Incredible stay at Keishokan Sazanamitei. Beautiful views and really enjoyed staying in Tomonoura and exploring the port town and nearby islands. Would highly reccomend getting half board option - the food was so amazing, so fresh and felt like we really got a real taste of the area. Also loved the hot springs.
Very traditional ryōkan, amazing restaurant, amazing room, comfortable futons, welcoming staff. Beautiful views and close to an old fishing village, with very welcoming locals.
When I was booking I was curious about especially high rating but well it truly was amazing they got everything, the room Is well organized, you have one small hot artificial bathtub onsen in room and you can also reserve one for your room number, amenity kit is perfect with great in-room selection of everything you might need, the staff is really helpful and as we arrived a little bit before check-in they helped us organise our time and advise us on what to do in the city and nearby island
We spent a short time here, mainly as a place to sleep before tackling the Shimanmi Kaido. This hotel is centrally located, just a very short walk to Fukuyama Station. The room seemed recently renovated and was comfortable – partnered with the hotel next door, which is where you do the check-in procedure. While we didn't spend much time in Fukuyama, the castle and area around the station was very pleasant. It was nice to have access to the onsen at the hotel next door.
Excellent hotel, although you book in at the Orient hotel. Good size room, free drip coffee, and onsen. A quirky breakfast completes the hotel and a reasonable price.
Excellent value for money. Rooms are clean and there is an onsen in the hotel. Tons of amenities are provided including pillows. Also free unlimited coffee. Breakfast in the morning is a great selection. Location is perfect being right next to the JR station.
Large sea facing tatami room was most attractive. And it had great views over the nearby islands.
Mattresses very comfy.
The outdoor onsen , again with sea views was a delight.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The half board breakfast and dinner were extensive (Japanese style), varied and high quality, well presented in our own private dining room.
