I suppose it’s less expensive because it’s further from the French Quarter (a 2-mile walk, which isn’t bad), but the Garden District where this hotel is located is just lovely! You could spend a day walking around the historic neighborhoods and touring this area. I traveled alone and felt totally safe, and the staff was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and informative. It was an all-around great experience!

The location of the hotel PLUS the free parking was a pleasant surprise. The views across the river and the sportsman's cafe on the ground floor was for breakfast and a quick meal.
