We’ve been to the North and South of Pemba and Emerald Bay was our favourite place. The daily boat tours and excursions in this stunning place were fantastic. Luca showed us his favourite hidden beaches and sandbanks, and how to move through the bay according to the tides. These have been the warmest, clearest, and most spectacular beaches we've ever been in. The hotel meals are amazing, including lots of fresh local fruits and italian-swahili inspired dishes at dinner. The owner Luca will take excellent care of you and the staff is also very kind and attentive.

El Pemba Lodge es un complejo ecológico que cuenta con bungalows hechos con embarcaciones recicladas y materiales naturales locales. Beautiful and very relaxing. Extremely good value for money and especially in Pemba. Very friendly and service oriented staff. Thanks Omar

El Gecko Nature Lodge Home of Swahili Divers the BEST dive center and Famous Gecko Restaurant alberga un centro de buceo y está situado en la localidad de Makangale, en la zona norte de Pemba. A home away from home. The place is very remote and quiet. For nature lovers, it is a real paradise. Coconut crabs right on the property and many bush babies around at night. Food is excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. We went there to do our scuba certification and Mike the owner is the best teacher you can have. We stayed a week but wish we could have stayed longer.
