Featuring direct beach access, this resort has a barbecue area overlooking the ocean. Each self-contained apartment includes a private balcony or patio. We stayed on the top floor in an apartment facing the ocean. I think it was number 8. It was perfect. We could cook our own meals in the well equipped full kitchen. It was well laid out to sleep a family of 4 and the beds were comfortable. We slept so well because of the black out blinds and lapping ocean just outside, My 22 year old daughter enjoyed using the trampoline and we both enjoyed the hot tub and having our meals on our balcony overlooking the beautiful view, The hosts were also lovely and very helpful with suggestions as to things to do. it was well located to walk and drive to different sites to visit in the surrounding areas. A nice bonus is it also had Netflix to relax at night with a movie, Because of the lack of noise and light pollution, star gazing was at its best. I would highly recommend this property.

Featuring garden views, Pauanui Lakes - Golf Resort offers accommodation with water sports facilities, a fitness centre and a tennis court, around 47 km from Cathedral Cove. The facilities were good. The pkace very relaxing.

Beachside Resort Motel is less than 5 minutes walk from Whitianga centre and less than 100 metres from Buffalo Beach. The hotel has an outdoor pool and a tennis court. The room set up was good. Plenty of space.

You can walk to Cathedral Cove from Hahei Beach Resort, follow the beach and connect to the Cathedral Cove walkway (the walk takes about 1 hour each way). We loved the location; how we could walk right out the front of our bach and step onto a sandy pathway to a gorgeous beach. Perfect for evening walks and early morning sunrise viewing. Comfy beds and everything we needed as far as appliances, shovels for the hot water beach, enough towels for shower and beach.

Just 8 minutes’ walk from Whangamata Beach, Palm Pacific Resort & Motel boasts an outdoor pool, a hot tub and a tennis court. Great location and fantastic amenities! Pool was clean, tennis equipment supplied, great spa and sauna too. Short walk to both beach & town. Couldn’t go wrong really. Alot bigger than we anticipated. A plus there was a gym we could use, despite being a very short walk away, it was fully stocked and tied into the price which was awesome. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Located on The Esplanade overlooking Tairua Harbour, Paku Lodge Resort offers self-contained accommodation with a private balcony and harbour views. Lovely peaceful location 2km from the town centre, beautiful walk. Spacious room with separate seating areas, small balcony overlooking the water. Staff were friendly, provided extra coffee when requested.

Located next to the Lost Spring Thermal Pools, this resort offers direct access to Buffalo Beach and has a heated outdoor pool, tennis court and a children's playground. Great location close to beach, restaurants and pier. Can access the Lost Springs Geothermal Pools and Spa through a gate at the back of the property. We were given a 3 level apartment that could have slept 7.
