The concept of the hotel as a retreat is very nice. Huuuge property with beautiful nature everywhere you look, which you can explore by the free-to-use bikes they offer. The view from our room into the nature and to tge mountain was beautiful. We liked the architecture of the rooms and the restaurant area with the window facades. We also liked that there was no music in the restaurant area to be able to enjoy the sound of the wind, trees and animals (especially birds). Also, as the hotel has only nine rooms in total, you have a lot of privacy. Actually my friend and I have only seen two other guests one time at dinner but had the pool all to ourselves (but we have to say that we have been there during low season). The staff of the hotel is very friendly and attentive. If you have any wishes/needs they are happy to assist you with anything (e.g. the FO manager helped us to book the train from Kandy to Ella). The best feature of the hotel for us was the food, which was included in our room price for 2 nights. For breakfast they have a Sri Lankan option and a western option (we chose the latter and enjoyed omelette and nice fruits and sweets). Dinner was excellent the two nights. Well-thought 4 course menus that are changing every day, including starter, soup, main course and desert. Every course was a gusto. Also they cook a lot with their own grown plants from the garden and you can really taste the difference between these fresh nutritious meals and the frozen fish and vegetables in Germany. We really LOVED the food.
The only thing we would improve is the maintenance of the hotel. The walls, windows and the pool could be cleaner. Also the sun loungers could be renewed as well as the bikes and the roof covers.
If maintenance and restoration in the hotel would be improved, it is without doubt an amazing place.
Just a little tip on the side: the time we were there it was very windy, especially during the night.

It is only short 15-min drive from Sigiriya and it has a spacious family room.
Our time at the Kandalama Lodge was beautiful. We felt special from the beginning. Everything was clean and tidy, the interior and decoration was on point. The bathroom outside was a bliss. We stayed at the villa with a private pool which was luxury as well. We felt so at home! Madushan made sure that we had a nice trip to Dabula and organized a driver for us. He made sure that everything was perfect.
The food - try the Sri Lankan curry it is soo good- and the cocktails were amazing!
We highly recommend to stay there!

We recently stayed at Sundaras for 4 nights and had an exceptional experience. While the room facilities were a bit simple, the outstanding service more than made up for it. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel like family, attending to our every need with genuine care and warmth.
The food and drinks were top-notch, so much so that we didn't feel the need to explore other restaurants during our stay.
The hotel's dedication to guest satisfaction is admirable.
The room was lovely and the outside bathroom a unique touch. Walking through the gate to their beautiful well maintained property was a treat and they clearly work hard to keep it looking good.

The location of the farm was excellent, you will find yourself in places you would not come otherwise. Pradeep's place is very well maintained, we stayed in one of the cheaper rooms and they were quite basic but that's what we wanted. If you are up for more luxury there are four new rooms which are all very modern and super clean! The farm is great and staff super friendly and helpful. It was a great way to get a peek in actual sri lankan culture. Would definitely recommend going here!
The resort is in a secluded place, quiet and tranquil. It's managed by a small family and the host has made sure everything to make our trip comfortable. There are a couple of swings for kids to play, a tree house to rent and a lot of trees that bring fresh air.
The rooms are clean. The linens are fresh. The breakfast was awesome! The host has cooked us breakfast with fresh organic vegetables. Don't miss the pancakes!!!
Our family stayed at the resort last night and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the amenities were excellent. it was a relaxing and enjoyable stay, and we highly recommend this resort for families.
It was just perfect. It is a family resort with the kindest owner we’ve met here. He maked a delicious dinner for us, help us with planning the trip to Sigirya, providing us a driver (cheers to his son!) for the whole day, even for the transfer to our next destination, Kandy.
