Elysian Luxury Eco Island Retreat, hotel in Hamilton Island

Surrounded by rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef, Elysian Retreat is a 3 hectare private cove.

Elysian is a secluded, anti-crowded space offering serenity and tropical vibes throughout the stay. The 3-course meal that the chef meticulously crafts for every day, great attention to the staff, and relaxed neighbor guests in common areas make stay a rare experience. My goal was to unwind from busy city life and disconnect from daily routines while replenishing energy and enjoying doing nothing. Elysian was able to do so spectacularly. The hosts make the whole experience unique and energizing, with a positive mood during every interaction. They also do SPA, which is another must-do while on this resort. We didn't travel to the boat/helicopter tours, yet I've seen people coming and going on tours, and they shared that they find it an exciting addition to the stay. After Elysian, it's hard to look at a classic hotel experience if the goal is to relax, enjoy the tranquility, and truly disconnect from the hassle.

Palm Bay Resort, hotel in Hamilton Island

Palm Bay Resort is a luxury resort offering accommodation with access to an outdoor pool, a private beach area, a day spa and and a tennis court.

The island is stunning, with lush, full-grown vegetation and an abundance of wildlife living freely. It felt like being in the middle of a jungle, surrounded by diverse plants and trees. Our 5-night stay was enjoyable and relaxing overall. The food was excellent—delicious, filling, and satisfying throughout our visit. The staff were friendly and welcoming, always smiling and creating a pleasant atmosphere. Although small, the gym was functional, allowing us to keep up with workouts, which was important to us.

Hamilton Island is so beautiful. We have stayed a few times in wonderful accommodation that was much cheaper than the Palm Bungalows, with fantastic amenities and amazing views. We were expecting luxury and comfort and privacy ( this was not the case) for paying over $550 per night. Very basic amenities and not cleaned daily as they came at 8.15am and we were sleeping in on Holidays.

Great resort, nice clean room and excellent facilities and inclusions! Our family especially enjoyed the included breakfast, and the beach activities (sailing etc) included as part of our stay. Great location, a short walk to everywhere you need to go. Would stay again.

Swimming pool looked great for kids and was well-loved by the resort guests. There was an excellent family vibe at the apartments and lots of happy, smiley, content parents enjoying a break from the rat race.

The apartment was great. Over three levels. Heaps of space. Three toilets (but one didn't flush well). Great view from the top level. Full kitchen. Close to the main resort village. The apartment was ready when we arrived even though it was before checkin time. The host allowed us to keep the buggy on check out until our flight later in the day and delivered the bags to the airport. Very very helpful.

Enjoyed the sunsets from our deck, reliable buggy, fabulous location, easy access to either the resort side or marina side of the island, responsive host, more than ample basic supplies provided, full kitchen with gas stove to self cater.

Hamilton Island is fantastic, and we chose this resort as it was the level of luxury we wanted. It was more expensive than what you'd receive on the mainland, but for Hamilton Island, everything is expensive. I liked the attentive service at this resort. Great breakfast included.
