The breakfast was excellent, with a huge variety of different well presented foods and drinks, especially the fresh orange juice, my favourite. I found the location to be perfect, easily accessible, and ample parking.

Located in the Olifant River Valley, the Clanwilliam Hotel features a traditional Cape Dutch building. The hotel is 5 minutes' drive from the Clanwilliam Dam. Everything. It was a pleasure staying at the hotel.

Simbavati offered everything one might expect and more from a high grade hotel, but the attention to detail went further - eg providing honey in the tea offering; not only providing a wood stove but also lighting it for us while we had dinner; and every excursion was even better than we dared hope. The cooking was glorious, excellent massage and they managed the miracle of everywhere being a comfortable temperature during quite extreme and erratic weather.

It was well-equipped, had a small garden where the host even planted rooibos (sadly didn't have enough time to enjoy it). The beds were comfy and the kitchen was well-equipped. The host was lovely and we got some home-made rooibos tea from her which was a lovely touch. The location is great for someone who wants to explore the Cederberg area, our host also provided us with plenty of tips and recommendations. 100% would recommend!
