We stayed outside of town in a hotel. We went into town in the morning and thought it was adorable. While we strolled around we saw several big horn goats come out of the mountains and into a parking lot. We watched while store owners in town herded them back into the foothills. The town is small but all restaurants, hotels, casinos and shops. And the shops have bars in the back! Until this trip I didn't know you could gamble in South Dakota. I will definitely be back to explore further. BTW, this is close enough to be your stop after you've toured the Black Hills.
Downtown has several excellent restaurants/bar & grills. A beautiful park in the center with fountains for children to cool off on a hot day. Check for Special Events that occurr there. Don't miss Prarie Edge store. Beautiful items offered for sale by South Dakota artist. There are 3 floors to explore here. Don't forget to look for each of our former Presidents located on each street corner downtown.
Good town to stay in. Peaceful and quiet at night. Very friendly people. Near Sturgis motorcycle rally and western South Dakota state and federal parks. Patty's Place for breakfast and beef tips at The Stadium bar and grill.
It's a nice little town in South Dakota, we didn't get to do much due to car troubles. The town was super friendly, your a stones throw from Mt Rushmore. We also ate at Black Hills bagels, excellent sandwiches. The town can be a little daunting to look at driving wise with all the construction. Though it's pretty straight forward and easy to maneuver.
It is just a stopping point for the badlands. Not much for restaurants. Still... good for its purpose. Kadooka is no destination in itself like wall South Dakota is. As long as you know that you are good to stay! Loved the park with the giant cement trees!
Close to Mount Rushmore and Crazy horse memorials. Good Saloons,Food and Shopping. Friendly people from all over the world! The locals are the best. The History of South Dakota lives on.
We drove there from Kansas City and it was such fun. When we arrived at Keystone, it was the first week in May and not everything was open. We still had a great time. We found some out of the way places to eat. We still got to see Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse, very cool. We took a tour and saw some crazy narrow roads, fantastic scenery, cute animals and big animals. Do a lot of research in the area because there are so many really cool things to do all over from Lead to Keystone and everywhere around South Dakota. Roosevelt Inn is the best place to stay, especially with a pet. They have renovated and it is very beautiful and great location. Ruby House restaurant is more expensive but, wonderful food and great atmosphere. Boss's Pizza is a lot of food at a great price and tastes wonderful.
Get to South Dakota State for exciting Big School football in an awesome venue with the greatest fans. Excellent food choices abound. The Children’s Museum is not to be missed if you have kids, especially 10 and under. Excellent shopping downtown too! Boutiques, antiques bicycles and even a gun store.

Rapid City was much more than we could have expected! The people were fantastic and all of the scenery was simply breathtaking. If you have a chance to check out South Dakota, do it!!!!
We loved EVERYTHING about your facility. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast made it easy for us to start our day quickly and get out to see all the sights. The Hotel is centrally located, close to many S.D. attractions and within walking distance to Keystone restaurants and shops. Our family suite worked wonderful for our family of 5. The kitchenette and table & chairs were perfect for card games and snacks. We will stay there again should we ever get back to beautiful South Dakota.
Staff absolutely exceeded our expectations and were so friendly. We had initially booked a mobility accessible room but only had a hearing accessible room; the manager on site literally dropped what she was doing to take me to another room to view to ensure that we found a room that was suitable for my disabled mom in a wheelchair. We only stayed one night but wished that this would have been our hotel for our entire stay in South Dakota. I highly recommend!
Nice Hotel with easy access to Rapid City, South Dakota. Seemed most things were only 30 minutes away. Gas Station/Grocery Store across street was perfect. Hotel personnel were Excellent. Rooms were perfect. Bed was quite comfortable. Room was fine. Only used the pool once but was nice. Breakfast was great. Bus Tour Groups also use this Hotel which speaks to its quality and price point. Would definitely stay here again.

Next door within walking distance is sprockets a fun arcade with pizza, the kids loved it. close to everything! last but not least the staff was so friendly, welcoming, and informative for a great stay in South Dakota. my kids said this was the best hotel ever and we vacation a lot.
I came all the way from chicago to spend the weekend with my grandchildren who live there in South Dakota. We had a fabulous time the room was wonderful. The pizza was really good from the restaurant. It was so cold outside that the convenience of having the restaurant right there in the hotel was awesome.. Keep up the good . P.S. The pool was also awesome. The water slide was great. My grandkids loved it.
Staff was friendly and they were able to get us another luggage rack and extra towels. The location was within a good driving distance to most of the activities and areas in western South Dakota that we wanted to visit. Having laundry room on our floor was very helpful and the price was slightly lower than we found at the other six hotels we stayed at during our trip.
We were traveling to South Dakota and stopped for the night. Everything was expected from hotel chain. We used Holiday Inn Express nearly the whole time from Alabama to South Dakota and never found a problem with any of the hotels we stayed in. It's a great deal for the money. We get a free breakfast and always feel safe.
The staff was excellent and helpful. They even put up with me telling them they were to blame for the afternoon thunder storms that occurred daily during our stay. It was a good quiet location and equally distant to all of our travel plans in South Dakota and Wyoming. Great little breakfast and the hotel felt clean.
Proximity to the freeway was good and the access to a breakfast option at the tavern in down town were very good and definitely put it ahead of other hotels in the area - particularly in comparison to many other South Dakota I-90 hotels. The small playground for the kids was a nice touch.
We absolutely loved our stay! The hotel was clean, spacious, and the staff were very friendly and helpful! There was coffee 24/7 and the pool area has an amazing view of the South Dakota Hills. We plan to return to Spearfish and will not hesitate to come back here. Thank you!

It was very clean and the beddings were so comfortable.We love that it is only about 2 miles away from Mt. Rushmore. The hotel staff were very much polite and accommodating.We will definitely come back and stay here once we travel again to South Dakota.❤️

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The facility was clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was very good with scramble eggs, sausage and biscuits and gravy. I will make this my overnight stay the next time in Mitchell South Dakota.
Central location and friendly staff. Don’t expect to be staying at a 5 star hotel, but it’s clean and simple and in a great location. All you really need when on a road trip through South Dakota.
This was probably the classiest hotel in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. We loved the Treasury Bar where you had to walk through a bank vault to get to the bar

Staff was so thoughtful and kind and went above and beyond. The location and lodge itself were amazing. Oh and the food, so so good. Jacuzzi while it snows was so much fun. Polaris Snowmobile rentals were amazing, and it was so much fun
