Poltava is very nice small city. I haven't quite time to see all sides of it but I'll go there again.
I tried a lot of delicious Ukrainian dishes. Poltava is not a big city you can take a taxi and reach anywhere in 10-15 minutes.
I liked the city, as it was close to the size of where I am from in America. It's not too big, but also it is not too small. There seems to be everything needed close by, such as food, shopping, banks, and pharmacy. If I return to Ukraine, I will come back to Poltava.
This was my first trip to Ukraine. I found that Poltava was a much less expensive city than Kiev. I stayed very close to the City Center and was within walking distance of at least 40 shops, stores, and restaurants. My friends were able to easily find me and I could navigate the main thoroughfares with confidence and without a street map. My visit was in November - the trees had just shed their leaves. I've no doubt that in May the city is much more picturesque with its tree lined streets and gardens.
Nice, clean, simple old town. The rest of Poltava is pretty much like any other medium-sized city. Easily accessed by train from Kiev.
Lots of history in the city. The White Rotunda offers a breathtaking view of the city. The city center is always active. The people I met were very friendly and helpful. If you are into military history, a visit to the Poltava War Museum is a must.

There is no problem with speaking foreign languages. And in fact you are in the very center of Poltava. You expect an old-fashioned (in the wrong sense of the word) place to stay in the Soviet style, and at best you are only glad to be staying in the heart of Poltava. But its modern and stylish apartment inside the building. Very stylish room furnishings, very comfortable beds. Impeccable cleanliness.

The whole staff was extremely friendly - almost all girls. Young atmosphere. Café always available. Clean and practical working desks in the hall. Two big and comfortable bathrooms. Everything clean. Basically all new. Comfortable to the main train station. Will definitely stay here, again, if I am coming back to Poltava. 100% approved!
I stayed at Centralnyi Hotel for 2 nights in September 2024. It is a small and pleasant hotel. Room was good and clean, Bed was very comfy. Wifi worked well. Location is good to explore Poltava, which is a beautiful city. Good restaurants nearby.
It's our third stay in this hotel, I believe it's the best place to stay near Poltava. I'd say the hotel itself scores 8, but bunnies, nutrias and other lovely animals running around are adding +5 points:)

Everything was very good. The room itself was immaculate, spacious, and equipped with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the housekeeping staff ensured everything was spotless daily. The location was perfect, close to major attractions yet quiet enough for a restful stay. We appreciated the attention to detail and the genuine effort to make guests feel special.
