Trinidad is not for everyone. And you can certainly find nicer beaches on other Caribbean islands. And POS is a big, loud, crowded Caribbean city. But Trinis are the nicest, funiest, friendliest people on earth. There is no place like it.
We had an incredible experience visiting the northeast coast of Trinidad at Cumana village. The location of Petit Trou is inaccurate although you are just a few Kms from there. The people of Cumana village are wonderful and the island and this part of the coast is rugged but gorgeous. Loved it. This area is not for the faint hearted tourist, it is for the adventurous minded traveler who loves beautiful people and places. You eat and live as the locals do and you are there to appreciate the beauty of the place and the heart and soul of this string of villages on a breathtaking mountainous caribbean coast. Stay out of the other expensive "resorts" and stay at the Cumana beach apts., you'll have a more real experience. Thank You Colin, Thank you Wendall and Cheers to everyone else we met at the property. Trinidad is now in our hearts and minds forever! Sincerely, Vinny and Erin Nuzzo of Florida and Montana
Going to Trinidad requires a well versed traveler.. One must be aware all the time of there surroundings. Get a driver- do not rent a car. The food, music and culture of T&T is very special and should be experienced. There are restaurants that the hotel can recommend- must haves, coconut water around the Savannah!
Spent two nights in Port of Spain on way to and back from Tobago. Found this wonderful new hotel - Grand Diamond Hotel (Trinidad) and by 'new' I mean newly built, modern, comfortable and very reasonable rate which includes to/from airport shuttle, and breakfast and free wifi - a great value. Mike and his wife, the owners, were very friendly, professional, knowledgeable. I highly recommend this hotel for short or longer stays.
Trinidad people are lovely and extremely friendly unfortunately travelers need to be careful for their personal safety.
PoS is very good for business. Through the years I refer to T&T as “Hong Kong of the Caribbean”. Trinidad is always open for business; business centre of the Caribbean. Easy to make appointments. Good lodging facilities. Enough rental car companies for transportation. Also enough opportunities for good food and relaxation.
Port of Spain is a very convenient location to dabble in a little bit of everything Trinidad has to offer . Great food , awesome night life, and loads of culture
Guarata
Perfect for Carnival in Trinidad or really any time of year. The bed and breakfast type accomodation is conveniently located close to the main entertainment and nature attractions in the north of Trinidad. Asha and Haresh were fantastic hosts, always ready to suggest fun itineraries and bringing such great energy to running the hotel and making their guests feel welcome. The hot breakfasts with excellent local cuisine options were simply delicious! Definitely looking forward to a return trip
Arouca
Communication with Nekesha was super easy and she replied promptly!! The apartment was designed tastefully with all modern appliances. It literally felt like home. The kitchen especially was super cute. You cannot go wrong and will definitely stay here again! I flew into Trinidad last minute and booked as I landed. The late night check in was welcomed and in no time I was checked in and relaxed! Thanks again. Highly recommend!
The location was not walking distance to the downtown area but transportation is available. We had somewhat to a difficult time getting transportation one occasion but it worked out in the end. There are private cars that are used by locals to take you to the hotel. The breakfast prepared each morning was a variety of Trinidadian dishes, pancakes, bagel, eggs etc, so there was no need to complain about lack of food.
if you arrive at Trinidad at very late night, this is the right hotel to stay. it’s about 6km to the airport and they provide free shuttle for coming & going to the airport. Although the hotel's facilities are very basic and expensive, its restaurant is very good. the price is reasonable, and the food is delicious, especially the Thai food. all members of staff were very nice and friendly. very clean room.
Ideal location for a last minute stay in Trinidad close proximity to the airport, and safe and secure. Staff were great especially the waitress and bar staff. Room was a decent size and it had everything we needed right there on site. We chose to eat in their restaurant and the food was tasty and beautifully presented, compliments to their chef.
San Fernando
Very friendly host, customer service is outstanding, Since the apartment is very high it portrays a beautiful overview of the sea and its surrounding areas especially during the night time, it is peaceful and indeed quiet, very comfortable an exceptionally clean apartment. 10/10 and would recommend to anyone travelling to Trinidad.
Saint Helena
Perfect location from the airport! Super modern apartment. Clean!!! All amenities! Self check in was awesome. The owner was a WhatsApp away and was always prompt with his responses. This is my go to Apartment whenever I go Trinidad!! Forget the hotels. This is the spot right here!!! You will not be disappointed! Highly recommend.
I wanted a place that was close to the airport, comfortable and safe, and Stewart Apartment provided that. It was like home away from home. Close to the shopping mall and places I wanted to visit. Thank you to Jason Stewart, the owner, who was very helpful and friendly. Next time in Trinidad, this is where I am staying❤️🇹🇹
Port-of-Spain
We were there for U19 cricket world cup and Trinidad was only just starting to open up. It was great to ba able to have the use of the pool during the afternoon and evening. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Spend the small difference to upgrade to a studio apartment with the extra room as we did. Well worth it.
Kevin picked me up from the airport and took me to apartment. It was clean, spacious and had a modern decor. It was a holiday in Trinidad when I landed and just about everything in the area was closed. He willingly drove me to get some food at no cost and was very courteous and accommodating. He was an excellent host.
Port-of-Spain

It was an entire two bedroom apartment, was able to cook for ourselves. Everything is within walking distance from the apartment, kfc, grocery, health center, fast food etc etc. The host went out of his way to provide transportation & he was very helpful altogether. Booking again for my next stay in Trinidad.

The House of Zen is a more modern apartment. It was clean, comfortable and inviting. Quiet neighborhood and the hosts were right at our fingertips ready and willing to assist. We even got history lessons about Trinidad.
Booked the hotel due to the pool/rooftop and room size. All very well received and happy with standard. Really friendly staff so would book again if coming back to Trinidad.
The breakfast choices were excellent. The service was outstanding. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I will be using this hotel on my return to Trinidad.
