One of Romania's "must see" locations, Sinaia has a rich history and a charming look to it overall. Obviously, the Peles and Pelisor castles are one of the most beautiful in the world. You can enjoy good food at very reasonable prices, the town is well kept and you have plenty places to walk around. In respect to shopping, do not expect high end products or select boutiques. Sinaia has still room to evolve. As a conclusion, I can recommend Sinaia as one of the nicest destinations within the Prahova Valley region.
Peles Castle is a must see. Former residence of the royal family, this is a masterpiece of architecture with its carved wood inside. We ate at an italian restaurant, Cucina Sofia. Great food, good prices. You can go on top of the mountain via the tele cabin to enjoy great views and eat at the restaurant. Easy access to the other towns in Prahova Valley.
Very nice place on Prahova Valley. Sinaia is, in a word: unforgettable!! Perfect weather and amazing sightseeing places. The highlight for me was the new face of the city. All in all, the experience blended perfectly the need for adventure, leisure and a desire to taste European culture and cuisine.
Sinaia is the first resort on the Prahova Valley, considering the distance to Bucharest. It is surrounded by mountains and there are several options to spend your time: ski in the winter, biking/hiking in the summer, and so on. It is a very nice location, but it can get quite crowded, especially during hot weekends in the summer, or when snow is announced in the winter. Ski slopes are a bit hard to reach, but most of them are at high altitude(2000m+), therefore skiing is possible even in April. There are also many old buildings, including the Peles Castle, which is very nice to visit. All in all, I like Sinaia very much as it has many things to offer for all kind of travelers.

A very nice town, close both to the capital city, Bucharesti on one direction and the Prahova Valley and the Carpathian mountains on the other direction. Ploiesti is the former capital of oil and petrolium products with its own new university. Some interesting places to visit are the Orthodox Cathedral, The Old Market, the Clock Museum, shops, restaurants and pubs whre you can enjoy lots of traditional dishes. You can take a very pleasant walk along the famous “Chestnut Tree Bulevard” in the shade of the old trees.
Probably one of the most beautiful place you can visit in Prahova Valley. There is so much history here in such a beautiful scenery. Oh, and let's not forget what I think are the best slopes in Romania
The view is amazing: from the room you could see the mountains with Caraiman's cross. Prahova river is crossing right next to the building and you can see it and even hear the nice sound of the river when you sit on the balcony. Cantacuzino Castle is at a walking distance. The apartment is very clean and cozy. We met the owners which were very friendly. For sure we will go again.

A warm room (both literally and figuratively) in a wonderful place, with a beautiful view, and a kind staff, near center, near markets, took only a few minutes to arrive to the train station. I’ll turn back!

The new 5 stars Hotel offers very large rooms, equipped with digital commands, a wonderful mountain view, 6 saunas ( hot with stones, wet with steam, cold with snow), indoor&outdoor jacuzzi and indoor pool. Beautiful view, chalet in the forest, all facilities, near to nature.
The location is set on a fairytale hillside, between the vineyards and offers wonderful views of the surroundings. The accommodation was unique, as we stayed at the hillside private villas, beautifully decorated and offered a great sense of tranquility. The restaurants had a diverse and delicious menu, while the wait staff was very professional and accommodated all our needs.
