Hotel Os Moinhos is located in São Jorge Island, with views over the highest mountain in Portugal, sited in nearby Pico Island. the grounds and views were amazing! nicely kept hotel rooms too.

Location was excellent. Right across the street from Car Rental. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Walking distance to many good restaurants and natural pool. 10 out of 10 for the staff…when we checked out at 6 am, it was raining so hard, the guy on duty at the front desk drove us to the ferry….(we had planned to walk to the ferry, and had not booked a taxi, so instead of letting us walk in the rain, we were grateful for the offer to drive us…he went above and beyond!!)

Beautiful and large renovated property with a lot of history, still run by the original family who owns it. The large garden is super peaceful and perfect to recharge after a day of hiking in S. Jorge. Everyone at the property was super kind, welcoming, and thoughtful - from D. Graça, the owner, to André and Catarina. Truly a special place that I would recommend without hesitation, and the favourite among all the places we stayed at during our two weeks in the Azores.
