I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The breakfast was truly exceptional, thanks to Victor, who made it a memorable experience. He brought the meal with such joy and passion, describing each dish in detail. The coffee was perfectly brewed with just the right touch of spices, and the peaceful atmosphere added to the charm.

Ideally located in San Juan, EL Colonial Open Bar Adults Only offers air-conditioned rooms, a terrace, free WiFi and a bar. This 3-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk and a concierge service. I visited Puerto Rico last week. I spent 2 nights at El Colonial and 2 nights at the Wyndham on Rio Grande for a wedding (spending more than twice). I wish I had spent all my stay at the El Colonial! If you go to a big resort chain you get a standardized service with no personal passion, at El Colonial instead I really felt welcome, even after the check out. Amazing staff, from the manager to the housekeeping to the bartender Kris! This is a small business that really does his best with passion. Great job guys!!

Stay was luxurious and allowed us to prepare meals rather than eat in restaurants. The building and unit have good security. Short walk to nice beach “Balneario El Escambrón.” (Walk to right as you exit the building, then turn left on C. San Agustín.) Excellent beer and wine at Ambrosia Fine Wines https://ambrosiafinefoods.net/ a block to the right as you head out the main entrance, at intersection of C. Martín Fernández. (It recently opened so it’s not on Google Maps.) It was an easy cheap Uber to the cruise port.
