I don't think there is much more to see than the Señor de Sipan museum in Lambayeque (near the Chiclayo). Sure, there's there are the Huacas (Pyramids) of Chipan, but since we had seen many Huacas in Trujillo, then kids had enough. We preferred to go to the Beach near our Hotel but going to the beach you can pretty much go to any of the cities on thé coast :) I don't think Chiclayo is worst going back again — although we sure can recommend the amazing hotel/place at which we were, for sure!
Well off the tourist track but close to some wonderful archaeological sites and museums. The museum at Lambayeque and the nearby pyramids of Tucume and Ventarron must be seen. The coastal town of Pimentel is also good to visit, expecially when the fishermen come ashore in their reed boats to sell their catch. Travel by local bus and taxi is amazingly cheap and is part of the local way of life which must be sampled. Shame that this amazing, busy, vibrant city and its wonderful historical surroundings are not better known.
Chiclayo is a congested, polluted city but a good base for visiting the museums and archaeological sites of the region. Lambayeque would be a pleasanter base if it had the facilities.
