The night was getting chilly so the lady of the house provided us with bottles of hot water to warm up the beds. There are very nice views of the lake from the house. All food was cooked fresh.

Richar and his family are lovely, warm, hospitable, and do not try to sell you anything. You simply spend a day with them in the course of their normal lives. Other homestays on the island shlep you around to do touristy things, though I hear they're fun too sometimes. Ocosuyo is on the quiet side of the island, and it is truly beautiful there. My only regret is not staying longer. The food is delicious and the room is brand new with an incredible view of the lake. Highly recommend.
