It is superbly located in a wondrous unique region of Oman, this is a truly great hotel. The staff couldn't be nicer or more capable and the food is excellent. The pool and terrace overlook the water, a beautiful sight. And there's a licensed bar with happy hour -- a rarity in Oman. I will return.

Relaxing in a quiet place, on the beach or next to swimming pool. The sandy beach was my favourite. It is easy to get around Dibba because there are good roads that connect different small villages in the area of Musandam. I like the simplicity, far from noise, malls, busy streets and crowds. It is a quiet place to enjoy swimming, relaxing and reading books you wait long to have time to read. Food was good. You can buy necessary things from the small groceries in the main streets. They accept Emarati currency.
It was a short transfer from airport to hotel on the free shuttle bus. We enjoyed two excursions during our stay, a half day Dhow Cruise around the Musandam peninsula and a Mountain Safari by private jeep. Both allowed us to experience the spectacular scenery around Khasab.
Khasab is a great place for diving - fantastic views - a quiet and peaceful little town in Musandam. Don't go if your looking for nightlife! Do go if you want to experience friendly people and local life in spectacular setting. And do go for Musandam Discovery Diving centre 👍🏻
There is nothing much to see except Mountains and Sea, but that's the reason one should go to Khasab. It is very scenic right from we crossed UAE border, the Sea on your left and the mountains on right. Some spots are too scenic that we parked by the sea side to have a cup of tea and enjoy the amazing views. We hired dhow cruise in the afternoon, kids loved to see the Dolphins swim along with us. Since we rented the dhow and we didn't want to do any other activities like diving, swimming, snorkeling etc. we specially asked the dhow driver to take us to see the Dolphins only. the crew was nice enough to take us to the quite far are inside sea where he knew he will spot the Dolphins which kids enjoyed a lot, keep in mind that the dolphins are seen in the area only in specific season and time of the day, there is not guarantee... Otherwise the area around our resort was not much populated, its very quite place, they have Lulu hypermarket where you can buy anything from groceries to food items to clothes to camping accessories.... Overall 1 night stay was good experience for me and my family in Musandam, Khasab.
We have been to Khasab several times now, each time bringing different friends with us. It is simply a geological wonderland with its many fantastic rock formations -- brought to life for me the physical geography classes I had decades ago! The views of the mountains dropping into, or rather, rising from the shimmering aquamarine sea are surely a sight for sore eyes. And the dhow cruises are really a treat, both for children and adults who become all kiddy when the dolphins turn up! There are many natural beaches on the drive to Khasab with just some amenities like playgrounds and parking area, so generally speaking, this is a place for nature lovers, not 5-star-amenities seekers, although there the Atana Musandam and Atana Khasab that fit that bill. Otherwise, simpler but clean lodgings can be found at Diwan al Amir in town, or Al Taif Tours' family villas in a quiet residential area. Go to Khasab!
We were there for a short time, One night at the Dibba Golden tulip resort which had a nice beach... we were off season and mid week so it was really quiet. we could have spent some more time there and read a book for a day on the beach!! Not a lot of food options but we were in the off season so probably not a fair judgement of what they have when it is busy. The evening meal of fish and chips we had at the hotel restaurant was good. Breakfast had lots of options. We connected with a Musandam cruise from Dubai the next day and it was really nice experience. Did not spend any time in the town so cannot comment.... would have been nice to have had some more time and checked it out.
I've been to Dibba twice, for a Musandam trip and a hotel stay. It was good- as long as you've got all the necessities while on a trip. It's a remote place. There are no good restaurants. You had to order in Fujairah and wait at the border for your deliveries.
Need a break from the city life, Musandam is a great retreat. The main thing to do is a boat cruise where you can take a traditional show boat out to sea for snorkeling, fishing and dolphin watching. Most importantly you get to take in breaths of fresh air and revel in the beautiful rocky mountains. Wonderful long weekend escape from Dubai. There a greet seafood/Indian restaurant behind Lulu.
Wonderful Omani town- perfect size for exploring on foot. Magnificent scenery and dramatic coastlines. Very friendly people and great facilities such as restaurants and Lulu market. Perfect base for musandam dhow cruise, visit to hebel harim or our favorite- a night in a beach camp. Very close to Dubai so good for a day trip if you have a layover in Dubai.
Khasab is the locus for dhow tours of the fjords around the Musandam peninsula. Their isolation and dramatic beauty is worth the effort to get to this relatively remote location, and the snorkeling and dolphin spotting were not bad either. Our schedule did not get us to the castle in Khasab, but we heard it was worthwhile, and there were some fascinating residential neighborhoods nearby to wander around in nearby. The three-hour drive and border crossing from Dubai were smooth and easy, and the flight from Khasab to Muscat to continue exploring Oman a breeze.
Khasab
I love Musandam. We used to come to Golden Tulip Khasab very regularly. Thankfully Mr Abdullah was still there otherwise I would have rated a 3. The Hotel is located in the most beautiful spot. 360 degrees sea and mountain views. You can spot turtles and reef sharks and stingrays from your Balcony. The towels we and the Balcony furniture were new, which was great.
The staff is friendly, ready to help and informative. they will help you to organise an excursion, if you are in Musandam with nothing planned. Sometimes it may request extra effort to get to the point because of the language, but it’s part of the experience. The hotel is well located, close to the port, shopping centre and few minutes by car from the airport.
Located in prime location which are nearby harbour dhow cruise, cities, fishing, restaurants, etc. I have requested for late checkout and staff permitted to accept our request. I strongly recommend my friends to choose Diwan Alamir Hotel for their future stay in Musandam.
Khasab
Nice, comfortable and clean hotel in more authentic Arabic style, perfect location for visiting the Musandam peninsula.
