Marahau
This was a gorgeous, small hotel (feels like a resort) in the best possible location for access to Abel Tasman park as well as the water taxis, kayak places, market and a couple of restaurants. Scott was really nice and steered us in the right direction for where and when to hike the trail and called to make reservations for us. We were able to order simple, delicious breakfasts as well as lunches to take with us on our daily excursions.
Kaiteriteri
We enjoyed a fantastic four days in the apartment directly overlooking the beach. While there's much to do and see in the area, sitting on the balcony taking in the view was just as enjoyable. We had everything we needed for a great stay: easy parking, a full kitchen, laundry in the unit and the shop right downstairs. It couldn't be more convenient to walk right down the stairs and onto the water shuttles to Abel Tasman.
Takaka
The proprietor was very helpful. He steered us to stunning hikes! The rest of the staff was also friendly and helpful. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. Kitchen facilities were basic - fine for cooking breakfast and preparing sandwiches for days hiking. The hotel is close to restaurants and a supermarket. This location is good for visiting the northern part of Abel Tasman but not the southern or central parts.
Kaiteriteri
We had a change of plans due to some date confusion with our DOC hut reservation and they were great about accommodating us for an extra night. They were also willing to keep our bag while we tramped in Abel Tasman which other apartments were not willing to do. Host was very friendly and just made the entire experience great. Was also a much quieter location than the main beach which can be loud. Highly recommend.
Kaiteriteri
the location was perfect within walking distance to a very nice beach. Close to the center of Kaiteriteri and easy access to the Abel Tasman Tracks out of Marahau. The place was sweet more studio apartment than full house. Everything worked well, the apartment was light filled and comfortable, the shower was good, the bed comfortable and the host very responsive. We would return again in a heartbeat.
Marahau
Exceeded wayyyy beyond what I expected for such a low price. Clean hotel-grade beds (even got the whole room to myself which was also wide, new, clean) , showers were nice and clean with hot water. Everyone did their part in keeping the communal areas tidy and its a lot better than the ones in the city. If you're coming to do the Abel Tasman during low-season this place is really worth it!
Kaiteriteri
I don't understand how this place has only 7,3. It's located 50m from a beach and near the Abel Tasman national park. Paul and Michelle were one of the nicest people I met in New Zealand. He gave us many recommendations for places to visit nearby. The room was cozy and had everything we needed. I was sceptical about the outdoor bathroom room but it was a nice and special experience.
Marahau
Rose welcome was one of the best we had during our journey in NZ, even if we stayed only one night. We would have loved to stay longer, the place if very peaceful and surrounded by nature (loved the cat!), for us was a good point to start our Abel Tasman tour in Kaiteriteri on the next day. THe apartment was bigger than I thought, very cleaned and had all the comforts.
Motueka
Room was very well equipped and larger than most we have stayed in New Zealand. The shared kitchen and communal area have excellent facilities and were very clean. Fresh fruit and eggs from the farm were very nice. The grounds/gardens and views are beautiful. Only a 20 minute drive to the start of the Abel Tasman National park.
Kaiteriteri
The location was great and only a 15-minute walk to downtown Kaiteriteri where all the boats depart for the Abel Tasman National Park tours. The rooms were very clean. We were very pleased with everything, and it proved to be great value for our money. I would recommend this hotel to anyone considering a stay in Kaiteriteri!
Motueka
Lots of space, beautifully decorated. Welcomed with a NZ gin and tonic nicely arranged with glasses and a shaker. New Zealand Chocolate Bar provided and Milk for morning coffee. Every amenity from espresso maker to multiple TVs, air conditioners, wool blankets, washer and dryer. It was a short drive to Able Tasman.
Kaiteriteri
We were only there for one night before heading into Abel Tasman, but the hotel exceeded my expectations. Spacious, clean and well equipped room; recently remodeled bathroom, beautiful view over Kaikerikeri beach, super nice staff who let us store a bag there for a couple of days while we were tramping in the park.
Marahau
The hostel was one of the most well equipped places I have ever stayed… from the kitchen to the movie room! The rooms were comfortable, the bathrooms were clean and the staff was excellent. Meg and Phoebe were fantastic and made everyone feel at home. The location is very close to the Abel Tasman coastal trek.
Motueka
Great apartment with amazing patio overlooking pure nature, great to use as a base for visiting the Abel Tasman national park, host is very generous with free nespresso coffee capsules and other amenities provided, very good kitchen facilities
Mapua
A wonderful little apartment in a beautiful location surrounded by beautiful gardens. A great location if you’re going to Abel Tasman park. The owner Nickie was a sweetheart and provided a beautiful breakfast each morning. Thank you Nickie.
Marahau
Christa was the best hot we could have asked for, very helpful, friendly and knowledgable. The "studio" apartment was much more than we expected and it was a wonderful stop over, right next door to the gorgeous Abel Tasman park.
Kaiteriteri
Lovely view and private garden area. Christine very friendly and helpful. Cute dog! Apartment spacious and well equipped. Easy access to Abel Tasman track. Lots of kayaking options - had we a fun morning on a waka tour.
Nice ground floor apartment. Lovely shared gardens, hot tub and small BBQ. Outdoor seating, including swing seats facing the sea. Direct access to the beach. Nearby to walking tracks, coast and Abel Tasman park
Kaiteriteri
The location is great close to the Abel Tasman NP. The family room with onsuite bathroom was clean and the restaurant next door was very good. Abel Tasman NP was beautiful and a great place for a visit.
Motueka
Peaceful vibe at this hostel, perfect place to unwind after a day exploring Abel Tasman Park. Really lovely owner who welcomed us and helped make our stay feel like a home away from home
