Birdsong Cottage is a recently renovated holiday home in Paraparaumu, where guests can make the most of its garden and terrace. Wow what a place! Thinking of staying in Wellington…don’t skip past it off the ferry and use this place as your base just 30 mins outside the city and its night and day compared to accommodation in the city. The hosts were lovely and very helpful, there were actually birds singing (and feeding) just off the porch! The rooms and layout is very nice, one of the best places we stayed in on our month in NZ! Great recommendation for a restaurant (the Waterfront was v good).

The outdoor space associated with the property is outstanding! The only sound at night was from the waves. The host was absolutely wonderful—cannot recommend the location enough!

Tasteful furnishings done with an eye for detail and with a beautiful peaceful outlook onto the garden. We only had one night but would very happily come back.
