Breakfast is delicious and the service was great overall! I would definitely return. No issues with warm water or heating. You have all amneties and the staff is great!

There is really nothing to do in Svalbard/Longyearbyen during winter especially polar nights. Everything is marketed as something to do with the northern lights because it's such a trend thesedays, but in truth the people know SO LITTLE of the phenomenon. The terrain makes it difficult to explore, especially to chase the northern lights. If you would like to experience the northern lights, this is not the place to go to. Tromso has more experience and flexibility (in terms of terrain). But if you'd like to experience authentic arctic living, then this place is amazing. It's so cold and during polar night, people do their routines as normal in pitch black! The downtown is pretty small (I think just about 4 blocks) and really easy to get around by foot. The shuttle (airport and tours) are pretty troublesome as busses cannot enter the small streets in the downtown area or around the hotel. Dogsledding and riding a snowmobile is defintely fun to do when you're in Longyearbyen/Svalbard. When you do it in winter/polar night, it really feels like you're on the moon or Mars, due to its terrain. The town is surrounded by snowy mountains. It looks majestic when you're hiking or exploring with a snowmobile.
